First Post...Noobie SUP'er...Hi
« on: April 22, 2012, 03:23:37 PM »

Finally got my Zone access and wanted to say hi and give a short intro...

First SUP experience was this summer on Ft. Myers Beach, FL with my little bro Shane. We were only out a few times but I was hooked. After returning home to Atlanta, GA I began my research through the winter for getting a Lake Board for Lake Lanier..spending a lot of time on this forum  :D ...

Anyway choose 2 boards, 1 for myself - I'm 40 .. 6'4 - 175 (14' Bark Dom - 2012) and 1 for my 9/10 yr old (12'6 Hobie Elite). So far we have only been out twice due to timing, weather and work but I see myself going out almost 2-3 times a week starting this weekend.

Looking forward to learning a tons more and sharing my experiences.

Out and about...
Chad

Nice boards and Welcome to the addiction!(the sport and this website)

This year I have seen the rental companies (or their boards) out everytime I go out around Fort Myers Beach, they seem to be spreading the stoke to people from all over the world.  I have always wondered if any of their users go back home and buy their own.

Congrats and giving a ten year old a Hobie Elite is like me getting a Corvette for my first car! Lucky kid ;D

That's nothing!  I just gave my 16 month old a custom Dave Craig surf SUP.  I'm just borrowing it until he's old enough...

Welcome to the addiction by the way!

Welcome, Noob! But you might want to change your username before you log too many comments. (take it from the guy who brought his handle from the MTB boards he used to spend so much time on. Only action the bike sees now is when it gets knocked by one of the SUPS I'm taking down from the rafters next to where it hangs). On those boards, you won't be noobs for long.

PS-- can you be my Dad?

It's good to start out with a nice glass ride.

And Corvette's do make a nice first car. I got to inherit my mom's that she got when she turned 16.  ;D

Thanks everyone! Yeah the board is a little over kill for him but I figured it would be a good board I could ride in the ocean when we take trips to the beach   ;D

supthecreek I did buy a gopro too and have some vids of our first two trips but still learning the Final Cut express for editing, etc..
