SlatchJim, Contact Kirk at L41.  He can scale up a SIMSUP for you and they flat out work.  Don't be fooled by the low volume number or length either.  The geometry of these boards make them inherently more stable than traditional shapes with similar volume.  That's the beauty of a custom board, they are made for your dimensions.

Do the mini simms get squirely or track in overhead conditions with that big ol wide tail?

On the opposite, the parallel rails bite beautifully in the wave face, you do not get the "squirelly" effect of curved rear oulines. The trick is that the rails must  be thin enough to bite in the wave. This said, I only had the opportunity to have a head-high wave up to now with it.

What you cannot do is expect to turn on a dime in the pocket, you need to feel how the board reacts and go with its flow rather than try to force it. On take off, you must let the board get to speed, then get into its natural tempo. But the deep concave makes the thin rear rails dug deep in the wave face, and the aft placed keel fins hold beautifully. You feel you are turning around the inside fin.

And what about backside? Can you jam a deep hard BACKSIDE BOTTOM TURN on a mini simms in head high + conditions without tracking or do you have to back off a bit because of that wide tail?

This is a top turn, but I think it answers the question: The tail design of the SIMSUP works!

Same in micro waves

No I didn't make it... as you can see my back foot was too much forward, it is a mistake I make most of the time...
