10' Fish, the Megadialer
« on: January 31, 2012, 04:25:00 PM »
Some of the new board posts made me want to share some pics of my new surf model, a 10' x 30.5" quad design.

With all the chop and wind driven waves in the Great Lakes I feel it is counterproductive to get too crazy with SUP reduction.  This board surfs really loose and generates a lot of speed down the line.  I surfed an identical model a few times this fall.  The pinlines stoke me here with a blue fading through purple to red and orange.  I'm getting teased right now and have no photos of the bottom.

Matt would be stoked on that compliment!  All the resin work is done using his own patented resin coating, Resin X.  I'll post pics of the bottom when I get some.

Maybe mid Feb and we could definately hook up for that.  Always fit in a paddle, either surf or race training depending on conditions.

That board is art.  Nice job!

Stoked you guys like it!  Tim, your compliment sounded directed to me...I am not the shaper.  Matt Campbell here in Michigan is.  The resin work seems like magic.  It appears to me to be very difficult to keep the colors from mixing and becoming mud.  Watching Matt work is pretty fun.  I'm looking forward to surfing it soon.

Had the chance to speak with Matt yesterday about a race board.  I'm beginning to understand why Zoners are always talking about custom.  Beautiful boards, super super nice peeps who are truly excited about what they do!  I was stunned when I checked out his blog and saw the gorgeous boards...

Hi Cat, you are in PA and considering a race board...any chance you plan to participate in the ASCA Nationals events this August, to be held in PA?  Last year they were in MI and had some SUP trial events like a 500 meter Sprint, 12 mile marathon and others.  It was pretty fun!

I didn't know about that race (yet!) but I will check it out. Looking for races to enter! Well, as soon as I get a board :).

You must be the hardcore dragon boat paddler Matt spoke to.  I'll bet you will kill it on a race board!

Wow, the rails had only hinted at the magic below.  That is some excellent glassing.
