first maliko run
« on: June 01, 2008, 09:28:11 PM »
chan and randy were kind enough to let me tag along on a maliko run today.

had so much fun on the water i'm considering quitting work and turning pro.

unfortunately, there are no pro ranks, and i'm slow.

regardless, it was a real blast, and i can't wait to do it again.

lots to learn in that downwind stuff.  fell off at least 30 times.

had a few long speedy rides too.  great fun.   :) :) :)

Larry,

Thanks so much for coming.

I have a really limited frame of reference (being new to downwind myself), but those seemed like ideal conditions-strong winds, smooth rollers...our best outing so far.

Thanks to you for test-swapping your F-16, and to Bill for letting me grab a ride on the FDS (Foote Downwind Special).  Sick boards!

That is the board that Bill shaped for himself.  Unfortunately, I have no photos of it.  Bill did say that he is building some new downwind shapes for some of the boys, but I don't know any of the specifics yet.  I did request that he not make anyone else that board that Jeremy is riding though ;D

What downwind board are you on these days?

I'm on the F16.  Just had it all restored and beefed up (had some soft spots) so it will last a good ling time when I get to OZ.
