Anyone tried the FCS 3DS?
« on: January 02, 2012, 06:06:19 PM »

Been killing a lot of fins lately (kiteboarding)....it has been affecting my SUP stock.

So I am looking for fins for my Naish boards SUP.

And then I saw the FCS 3DS side bites. Wonder if anyone have experiences with them that you want to share, and what I can expect. They just look so different.

:-)

Well both on amazon and ebay they are $80 for a pair.

Still steep but more normal. :-)

lol. Ok thanks. I kind of suspected that, but I guess sometimes slowing down is okay?

But, no I will not order them though.

If your board has a lot of tail rocker the fins are going to drag.  These fins will work better with a low/flatter tail rocker.

I just used the big star fin/wing tip keel fin the other day just to try it out as a single.  My board glided through the water with little drag but the upright profile resulted in so much yaw it was difficult to paddle for waves.  Once on the wave whole different story.
