Would you buy a Werner paddle?
« on: November 28, 2011, 10:22:02 PM »
I'm really digging their paddles for their shape and shaft design, but am wary of buying due to the handle issue. I paddle in the surf and for fitness in San Diego and am looking at one of their adjustable Nitros. Would you guys who have them buy another one? Are they worth the possible pain of a warranty issue?

Thanks,

Mike

I have an adjustable Nitro and have had it for more than a year now.  No handle issues at all and would definitely buy another - the bent shaft Fuse will likely be my next paddle.

Go for it
dont let our gripes hold you back, not sure if the adjustable one has the same handle
I like their paddles, We who use it in the surf put a lot of demand on it. I would buy another of course I strengthen their cheap ass handle first.  Check out REI online, they had a special a few months ago, $250 for a Nitro free shipping too, just pay attn to the length.  You might get lucky and find the Adj one on sale

I used my Nitro for almost every day and over a year to surf my local breaks in Puerto Rico. Best Paddle ever! Nice people to deal with as well.
Handle situation corrected and when it did happen , no questions asked, company did responded right away.

Werner is a long time paddle company, long before sup came around, they made paddles. I started sup with a Nitro, shaped up and now on a Fuse. Straight shaft, one piece bliss for downwinders and racing. Would buy 10 more !

I have been using 2 of the blue advantage's for 2+ yrs.
One long shaft for long distance
One shorter shaft for surfing
Used in all kind of conditions and never broke one.  I weigh 200 Lbs and pretty hard on equipment.  The Prices are good as well.  A little heavier than other paddles but my blue collar hands can't tell the difference but my wallet can !

I only use Werner's, not only because they're local for me, but i've been using them for surf and sea kayaking for years.  I surf, race, do tidal rapids, downwind, etc on my one piece Nitro - been 3yrs no problems.  the handle doesn't both me, i only tend to use one side of it anyway.   i have to carve's for instruction.  for kayaking use the correvycken's.  would love a fuse.

Ended up with an adjustable Nitro. So, that and my new board will be waiting when I get back from the Middle East. Can't wait!

The Nitro is a great paddle.  I'd buy another Werner in a heartbeat.
