Really nice. Is that original paint? If not, congrats on the look, you have a perfect "unrestored but well maintained" look--the goal for every hip hotrodder these days.

heres what  she has   chevy 350, custom stainless steel exhaust big flow master mufflers  sounds unreal not to loud but just mean and angry.  locked dana 44 front, locked 14 bolt rear  all new but old gauges to keep the old school look inside  warn 8000lb winch with remote,  b4m slap shifter. interior completely rhino lined including top ,custom fenders to fit the full width axles. 35 inch tires  custom bumpers and rock sliders.   complete frame off resto frame sand blasted and power coated custom driveshafts balanced by me... the paint is new but like the  good old duke boy orange.  newer front and back seats out of old samurai in good shape. i never really been a show truck guy but its nice to have a nice truck for once but its still built to go anywhere but mostly a beach cruiser.

I had one of these with no doors no top and a complete rust bucket and I miss it still.
Yours is so cherry and I caution you never to sell it , you will be sorry. They are special cars. Enjoy your little beauty, nice job! Thanks for sharing it.

Are you thinking about running her in the sand at IBSP?

You have a winner there.

I make my living as a geologist and by virtue of that profession, have owned an FJ40 and FJ60 and currently a 4runner.  You will be able to nearly defy gravity if you ever get a chance to put some serious time on that in the desert or Mexico.  You also have one of the very few vehicles that gains value with time no matter the miles, as long as it runs.  The other seems to be VW 21 window busses.

The real glory to the FJ40 is that they were patterned off some Chevy blue prints and with minimal bracket additions, that 350 just drops right in.  Frankly, the Chevy is a way better engine that the 6 they put in these originally.  Getting a stock 350 is cheap and easy too, and it generates way better power versus the original.

TLC does restos and mods for the FJs.  They make some "to drool for rides"

See ya in the line up - Jim

The orange is gorgeous by the way
