Question from a newbie!
« on: July 12, 2011, 05:16:32 AM »
Hello all, so a little over a week ago I got a nice 12' SUP baord for my 40th birthday.  I got my first taste of both lay down and stand up surfing in Hawaii a year ago while on vacation.  I live in Ohio so chances for catching some waves are limited, but standing and paddling on the many lakes around me, including Lake Erie, are almost unlimited.  So enough of the introduction on to my question.

On Sunday I was showing a friend how to paddle when she put the tip of my board into the back of a boat.  So now I have a nice chip taken out of the nose of my board.  I was wondering whats the best way to fix it?  It is about a half inch wide and maybe a quater of an inch deep.

Also is there like a nose guard that I could put on my board seeing that the area I am in has more then a few large rocks.  Thanks for the help!

What's brand of board / type of foam - is it EPS?  To be safe get some Solarez Epoxy (very important - make sure it's epoxy!  It's in a blue tube - the other stuff can melt the eps foam in your board).

Google "SUP nose protector" - I've seen them before just can't recall the brand. They have stick on types and some that slide over the nose for transportation only and not when paddling.

Newb:  is she relatively hot and wearing a bikini at the time?  If so, don't worry about it.

If not, never invite her SUP'ing again!   ;D
