I can see Maalaea on the left and Kanaha on the right, Sugarcane in between. I am blessed!

For me it's half an hours drive in good traffic but when it's bad it can take me an hour.. That's why I drive a little car now..  :)

5 min from a small gravel pit lake, I do 1/2 mi. Laps, or
20 min up the hill to a larger lake & 1 hour from Santa cruz, capitola and half moon bay

I'm fortunate to live on a houseboat (on Lake Union, Seattle) so zero feet for flat water. It's obviously super convenient for SUP. I can get out a couple times a day and take advantage of conditions as they come. It's 2.5 hrs to surf, including a ferry ride.  I wouldn't mind flipping those numbers, but until my kids are in college, it is what it is.

In the late 80's I lived in a tiny water-front studio in Kahana (up the beach from s-turns), that was truly paradise. ::)

According to Google Maps, 504' to the waters edge, but it's 1100' feet to the waters edge at the beach where I can get in on my SUP.  I wake up feeling lucky every day.

two miles from Maliko gulch and 50 feet from the ocean... cool but not so cool when there's a tsunami warning.
walking distance to Charleys, Mana Foods and the PO.  But you know once you step into your car it doesn't really matter whether it's 5min or a half hour except for the cost of gas.

Like Maui Husky, 0 feet away.  I liveaboard! I'm 6" away lying in my bunk and the boards live on the side deck of the boat.  I love the pre-dawn glass! Sometimes I go for  a work out paddle and sometimes I put on the suction cup drink holder and go for a leisurely paddle with a cup of coffee on the board.

As said above, nice to remind myself on occasion what sweet life I've got.
