From my local lake, about 2 minutes.  There's another couple hundred lakes (no kidding) within a 1 hour drive.   ;D

Just under an hour to Georgan Bay - part of Lake Huron (Great Lakes...).  :)

From the ocean.....well I'd have to put in a 2 day drive. :(

Pretty country up your way, My Gparents were from Bracebridge and Hamilton.
Small world eh?

Don't let the skeeters carry your board off!   :D

5 min drive from one of the best breaks on the lakes for waves

Which town are you in?   I'm in Sauble Beach and have been looking for others on the forum.

I'm about .5km from Lake Huron and about 400' from an inland lake.

Adios:

yeah, it is a small world...gotta thank this forum for that......

Mosquitos?  ;D ...yeah that and the blackflies.....part of the reason that I'm doing waay more SUPing and way less MTBing lately.....and enjoying paddling on windy days.

I'm 15 minutes north of Bracebridge.  As for Hamilton, you should check out this forum
http://www.originsurf.ca/phpBB2/

Lots of surfing (and SUP) in Lake Ontario....

Cheers

300m from a fairly open Harbour 500 m paddle to a surf break when there is a decent swell. 5 minutes to a frash water lake. 1/2 HR dir e to a reliable beach break with a river bar for less than overhead. 45 min to 1 hours drive  to the wild west coast for rugged hardcore surf. And lineup s ars unheard of.   Unlimitied options with more driveling including 2 other major harbours and unlimited surv spots.

Much beter than when I lived near London. 3. Hours to get to an over crowded, overpopulated sesss pit with no hope of decent surf.

Not waterfront rich just making the right lifestyle choice
