Upwind and Downwind
« on: May 22, 2011, 03:03:53 AM »
Here in Hilo, Hawaii, we don't have the greatest downwind conditions.  When the wind blows, ocean swells get big and disorganized.  Sometimes, I paddle into the wind just for a chance at catching some light downwind.  The winds were fairly light today, but outside the wall was choppy and I decided to rig up the GoPro, mounted on the tail of an SIC Bullet, and take it for an afternoon session.  I really do love paddling into the wind!

Nice clip. I have the GoPro too. Awesome camera. You're having "A" ball? Well, I hope you had 3 at that point  ;D

Nice save on the beach ball! You're a good man!

Good pull on the music too, Sandman is in my workout playlist, 120 bpm!

Foilman, yup, that would be correct  ;D!

SUP NINJA, I love this board, even in less than ideal conditions!

AP, it's the second beach ball I've saved.  We were all a kid once and had something lost, whether it was the wind or a thief.  The kids were cheering and kept saying "thank you" while mom took my picture, it was a great way to start my session.  BTW, Metallica always gets me pumped!

When you put the ball between your feet I thought you were gonna start some Danny Ching workout!  :D

Haha!  Maybe if I had my front camera setup! Had 2 cameras on today's run, but I didn't find any beach balls..I'll post a video tonight.  Takes about 6 hours to convert, edit, save, and upload 10 minutes so thanks for appreciating it, even if it was the beach ball that caught your attention  ;)

No question, Bullets rock. You need to come over for some Malikos next winter.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

AP, thanks for the props..I cut out all the bad parts j/k  :D  I try to paddle 5 days a week and sometimes do double sessions on the weekend, it's all about the STOKE!

PonoB, I was just thinking that after watching Bill B's videos!  So jealous!  I don't want to sound like a cry baby, but geesh, 90% of my session is paddling...GIVE ME SOME GLIDE!! Haha!  Bullets do rock though! I'll post a second video, more sloppy waters, but it's what I got, and I still love it!
