2011 Starboard Surf Race 14 Retail Price

Curious what the retail price of the SR 14 AST model should be.  I am afraid that I made an emotional purchase on my board back in December '10/January '11 and quite possibly paid above retail.  Also, are there others in the US mainland that saw this board available around that time of the year.  Recently had a conversation with someone that was a little suspect of the early year availability.  What say you Starboard guys?

Retail was like 2499.The first boards on the west coast  I think came in about mid september.
Mine got here 3 days after the  Round the Rock race on September 12.DOH.
That said you still have a board that totally rocks.No matter what you paid.

Thanks for the response Lee.  That's in line with what I paid.  Is it customary for the manufacturers to put a few boards of a new style on the street before the official introduction.  Just curious since you purchased yours late last year as i did, yet they don't seem to be available at the present.

I'm pretty sure that's because they have already dropped them from their line.. 

That's a shame because it is a great board.. My friend Jonathan has the new 14 arriving soon so I'll post some pics once it's here.

Yeah I think I just figured out the same thing this morning.......about the new board.  Great.  I noticed on the Starboard site this morning that the photo of the 14 Surf Race is now suddenly different than mine.  DJ, do you know what changes they made.  I guess things are evolving so fast in this sport that keeping up with the latest boards may be a rich mans game.

Jonathan got his new 14' Starboard 'Open Ocean' board yesderday.. This morning I'm going to paddle it.. and I'll take some pictures.. It's quite a bit diferent to the 14' SurfRace.
