Dave's Beach workout
« on: December 24, 2010, 12:57:38 PM »
I did a little writeup on Ke Nalu on the three beach workouts I've done with Dave. No, it doesn't really tell you how to do one, that would be really long and would require a zillion pictures. But it gives a good idea what it's like. I'm trying to encourage Dave to do a video of the workout--mostly because I want one. Seems to me that there are a lot of people who would like a fun workout targeted precisely at paddle and surf sports that you can do anywhere with just a slightly tricked-out rope and no gym.

Anyway, let me know, either here, or leave a comment in KeNalu, or for simplicity sake I added a form that just captures your email. If and when he makes the video I'll let you know.

Oh, the article is at: http://www.kenalu.com/2010/12/24/lifes-a-beach/

Thanks to all the folks that have looked at the article on Dave Kalama's beach workout and indicated their interest by adding their email to the included form. Dave is pretty encouraged by the response, I think we might be able to get this done. I told Dave he should give a good discount to anyone that indicated their interest in advance. He seems open to that.

I think his remaining concern is that anything he does has to be really top notch. He's really careful about being true to himself and his values. A really rare quality. Tough for a jaded old marketing whore like me to get used to, but even I have to admire it.

I got an email from one interested person that said I should include an option for people to add a message to the email form, that people might have some good ideas. I wanted to make the response quick and clean, but I've accommodated their suggestion. I also had to add a captcha code to deflect spammers since they managed to find the unguarded form really quickly (and no, I don't need any counterfeit Viagra). Sorry for the added complexity, but that's how it goes on the big bad interweb.

We're working on it. It's a big project. I can't believe how many exercises he goes through over the course of his workouts and variations according to what he's focused on. We've trimmed out some of the ones that were so similar that the subtle differences didn't lend themselves anything but personal instruction, and it's still 84 exercises.

You can count me in on a beach workout vid, btw, couldn't get the form link to work.  Not to get off topic, but I also watched the Bearcats video and you're so right about the guys expression at the end, you can feel him re-living those days.  Did he say he was 90 years old  :o.  Also, checked out the P51 cockpit and wow almost as good as sitting in the plane.  Good stuff Bill!
