SUP General / Re: CT school shooting

If we were to loosen up gun restrictions even more, there would be more civilian
interventions saving lives.  But at the same time the overall gun violence would also
rise - more guns available-  raising the number of gun related deaths.  The uninterrupted shootings would
still produce more deaths then those saved thru interventions.  And how much collateral damage
will we be able to take.

Don't matter, I enjoyed that alot.  You guys are seriously lucky.  Video with the chest cam
may not be good but the stills gave nice perspective of the experience.  Thanks

The act of borrowing was one of the core functions of the bank.
The problems arise when the profit margins expected, from the originally
community servicing sector, get changed and cause large consolidation.
The bank should hold and lend.  To go too far down the road chasing
"excess" returns is unhealthy.

Bottom line, check with the airline first.  They vary big time
from free to cheap to very expensive. Some actually refuse
due to size.

Pono posted somewhere a trick that I have used successfully
myself, pay the skycap a nice tip to bring your bags to the
counter where they then slip it thru the system for free.

Thanks a lot K'dogg, you've shown me my retirement spot.  The
place where you can surf till your done.

And Colas, I had heard of but never seen la tranche.  Amazing, must
be a rare swell that makes it rideable.  Sounds like a surf trip this
winter might be on order.

Nice, vid.  Geez those Canucks can really rip.

Did a surf trip to Nova Scotia in high school, no waves like that but
it was a magical trip.

You must have been a good boy taut, thats a lot of goods under
the tree for you.  But tell me, naish's spec chart say the 7-6 is for
up to 185lbs?  I'm your weight and thought I would need a 9+
hokua to float me.  Love to hear how you find it in the surf.

I'm also a long time SJ reader and collector.  Also have Surfer going all
the way back to the '70s but switched to SJ when it started.  Due to
the increased written content I get way more bathroom time out of
each issue.  Recently stumbled onto White Horses, out of OZ, and
subscribed to their digital edition, high quality surf journalism.

Hey 14, the tanker is a flying gas station full of jet fuel- juiced up
kerosene, for airborne refueling.  All the tanks lead to either the
tankers own engines or to a nozzle in the back for another plane
to fill up from.

Nice blow by blow.  He did fight hard that last bit to make it out
of the foam.  Thanks for the the whole effort, enjoyable.

Sea, with due respect, the only crap dumping being done here is by this
"chemtrail " fanatic.  I'm a professional pilot, did a stint on the tankers
shown in the vid earlier my career, and now spend my work hours in the
same airspace as the guys in the vid.

The contrails are just water vapor and jet exhaust, the second being in
fairly small amounts due to the efficiency of the modern jet engine.  As a
matter of fact, in humid air just the wing tip as an aircraft comes in to
land will leave a small vapor trail.  Go to the airport and see for yourself.
The gliders I fly for fun even do it.

The red/ orange colors are just the setting sun, any clouds out of the
videos view were the same color.  if you could have seen the contrail
from the fedex aircraft it would be the same color.

The last piece of crap was the "collision course" and unknown to ATC bits.
Where civilian transport planes fly is ATC controlled and that goes for mil
aircraft as well, transponders and all.  The separation can be just 1000',
which is alot but to the uninitiated looks close.

There are serious things to be concerned about but this isn't one of them.

Yes, the winter swells have returned.  A few weeks ago had a similar
experience on the first one.  My off season training program never really
happened but now was the time to go.  Overcame the butterflies, made it
outside, caught a medium one, ok now I'm ready.  Got distracted by the
crowd and got caught under a bigger set. The full tour, rag dolled over the
reef all the way to the inside.  Some nervous gulping for air moments and
general feeling of failure and doubt.  Stayed out for another three hours,
carefully stayed out of trouble.  Every year bit of the same, in the end ok.

That was a great video.  The music selection matched deliciously with the warm
backgrounds and super sup.
