Gear Talk / opinions on the starboard whopper please

hello and aloha fron supercold germany,
still dreaming about waves and sun. is the whopper, 9x34 a foolproof board in small and medium waves and choppy waters? right now i ride a 10,6 x29 board which is a bit tricky to ride. will the shorter board be more fun, can i catch more? noseriding possible?
thanks, eddie

Gear Talk / what is the word on the starboard hero?
« on: March 18, 2013, 02:15:14 PM »
hi folks, i am considering a shorter and wider board for the coming  summer. small waves, maybe i get better. an expert told me, the hero 29x33 would be fine. i weight  round 85 kilos. any other  suggestions? thanks for letting me dream, eddie

« on: February 26, 2013, 12:07:05 AM »
Hello,
Since i live in north germany our winters are just godawful depressing. I really feel like moving south from december til the end of february next year. Is this a good idea?  Anyone round here did it before?
Thanks, eddie

Just back. Worked great. Took good care not to splash.  Cold feet. Socks next time. Slight downwinder-action, magic nature. Do it!

I will try my 2/3 wetsuit with some bicycle underwser and a old rainjacket today on the lake. Don't feel like spending money, just want to paddle. Will tell you how it was later.

Hi guys, i think a something like a 5/3mm neoprensuit will be my next new thing to buy. My old one is showing holes. Is there a material that wont feel so cold when the windchill sets in? Or other good advice?  Thanks, eddie
