Well that’s great timing, Marc.  The Turtle Ladies would never allow that here during nesting season. I’m surprised the Chamber of Commerce  didn’t stop it. Once the equipment is off the beach, one or two good storms will put things back right.

East, thanks for the push on the derm appointment.  In January I cancelled my derm appointment with the VA cause the patient before me had Agent Orange exposure and the one after is a napalm victim and the Doc looks at me and says GTF Outta here.  Last year I went to a private derm Doc but their focus was on cosmetics, where the big bux are and insurance doesn’t come into play.
I called the teaching university and got an appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

If you’re near Greenville or Columbia, Half-Moon Outfitters should be able to give you a referral.

I was at Crystal Springs years ago for Dive quals.  We stayed in pretty rough accommodations.  It’s a very popular area with divers because of the water clarity.

You might ask your question on a dive forum. Good luck!

I don’t know if it’s still the case, but Starbucks and Costco used to give health coverage to employees who worked 20 or more hours a week.  That’s not quite most folks’ idea of retirement.

So was there an Urgent Care or ER on the island or did you have to go to Manahawkin?

Imagine the beating without your wetsuit!  I’m always kind of glad when it’s chilly enough for a shorty just for the protective layer.

One foot waves means about 16” deep, reminding us that shallow water is for getting hurt in.  Glad you’re ok.  I am guessing the board whacked you.

I just read where millenials  are using Uber instead of ambulance when they can.

Great video documentation!

Stu at Ocean Fitness will be glad to hook him up.  843-559-6073. I am not sure what he’s got in the rental fleet, use to have Corebans and Jimmy Lewis.

Like the ten blind men and the elephant, everybody's experience depends on where you touch it.  I was out in the waves with a guy on a Sunday morning when he said he had to leave soon tho go to church.  I looked all around us and asked "you mean THIS isn't church?"

I've been using this one I bought from one of the Zoner vendors - think it was Ralph.  Works fine  for short distances, haven't been on highways.  Comes with a carry-bag for travel.

Your brother came by  on a bike that first day we went out.  i suggested going to City Council when he complained about the situation and he thought that would be futile.  You essentially did that with social media - good job!

I grew up going to Jersey beaches including LBI and I have never been asked for a beach badge.  All the rules and refs are not because locals are jerks but just due the huge amount of people you get, proximity to NYC and Philly.  Overpopulation.

Six or seven years ago I started pushing the locals here to replace the metal trash cans with plastic ones like I saw in Ocean City.  In fact, I urged council to go to the Northeast to see the future!

Mark, that's great.  Grass roots democracy in action!  I bet your brother was surprised - surfing allowed in Surf City?

I still can't get used to the idea of badges, we only  have about 2 blocks of beach w lifeguards.
