Gear Talk / Re: Kenalu Classic or Ergo-T?
« on: October 01, 2013, 05:14:53 PM »
I have both... I think the Classic T would be best for racing, it gives more precise blade control w/ less effort to angle the blade.. and the Ergo T may be better in the surf...i don't know why... 8)

I like them both...but I think for an all around paddle the ergo T might be the best cause it's easy to get used to...  I think if you spend time with the classic T you won't wanna go back to the ergo T, it feels too small.....

Bottom line of this ramble of mine?.... buy both..

My 9'2" Allwave glides better than my Mana 10'....much less rocker up front, which is also why it nose rides better than the Mana as well...

When I get the sense that they are someone I'd like to be friendly with....or they'd like to be friendly with me...  You know how some people give off that vibe instantly while others clearly want nothing to do with you...  I have met 2 people who are already on The Zone that way...just by chatting... it comes up pretty quickly......

Technique / Re: For speed/efficiency, how far fore/aft do you stand?
« on: September 25, 2013, 10:03:23 AM »
Keep the bottom of the nose just above the waterline and the tail as high as you can in the water...that point will probably yield your best efficiency...  many boards I've tried will have you ahead of the handle to acheive this... obviously once you get familiar with your boards you will discover where the true sweet spot is...enjoy!

Looks great.. Just hope there's enough nose rocker for downwinding.

I think the 2012 model will be the go-to downwinder....

Technique / Re: Too much paddling while riding a wave?
« on: September 10, 2013, 01:29:50 PM »
paddling when it's not really necessary is just a bad habit..kinda like seeing shortboarders constantly "hopping" their boards up and down trying to stay in a wave...whats the point?

Just going back over some of this thread and noticing that the xtuf (s) is apparently labeled as "70c" on the shaft but is being referred to (and apparently labeled) as an "80" as well...  Wouldn't it be easier to just label it the same way across the board?  Maybe that has been done since I got my last one?  I have another one on order so just getting excited...

Random / Quadcopter 101... where to start?
« on: September 01, 2013, 12:24:52 PM »
So, I've seen lots about them, think they are awesome and would love to think about getting one, specifically for use with GoPro and capturing all sorts of footage..  So, where do I start looking at what type to get, how much to spend, etc, etc, .  Can anyone offer suggestions on the best type to start with and what is needed to get up and running... Obviously, price is a major consideration as this will be a tough one to sell to the wife... :P  Thanks
