Check out 27North paddles. Absolute bomb proof surf paddles. I have had the Kevlar paddle for 4 years now and it still looks brand new.  Comes with a lifetime warranty.

That was awesome. Personally laid up from blown out back, that got me inspired to come back even stronger and get back into racing. About as good coverage and exciting racing as we will have from our sport. Great venue, conditions etc. wish I was healthy enough/able to do it. Those heats were stacked and it was cool to see them make it out, wipe out, buoy turn and hammer down. What else do you guys want?

From my college days. Mini-vans make the best surf mobiles. Cheap and tons of room. This gem was bought down in the FL keys for $400 bucks. Custom paint job from my roommates on my 21st Birthday. Had it up and down the east coast windsurfing and surfing for over 2 years, lived in full time for over 6 months. Top speed about 55, sold for $200.

Hooked up with fellow Zoner Beached and got his Sunova Shroom. A bit small for him as he went for a floatier Hypernut. This one is 7’9” x 30” at 104 ltrs. For me at 195lbs I found it plenty stable and easy to paddle. Much more paddle friendly than my KM. Got out this weekend in 3-4’ glassy waves and it was super fun. Crazy design and different than anything I’ve ever been on but I can see how it will be perfect for our Florida waves. Quick to plane, feels like a skateboard when up and going. Other things that stuck out were how easy it was to paddle through white water heading out  and it tracks super straight when paddling around .  Construction on these boards are top notch. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a smaller/mushy wave board.

If any fellow Zoners ever want a spin on it just hit me up. I’m in Florida and do most of the races around.

I'd love to see a video comparison of your 2 boards on FLAT water.

No video for comparison, but the KM was super fast on FLAT water. I sold it for the F-one. The KM had a radical displacement bow and was silky smooth and fast on the lake. Pretty cheap feeling construction and sucked in any chop. The F-one is leaps and bounds better. Lighter, much better construction and I’m getting better times now even on a flat ass water. Even though labeled a flat water board I have had the F-one in everything from the ocean and surfing it to the flats and it does everything well. I feel I’m at the point where I’m completely satisfied with my board and know I’m the only road block in its potential. Need to just practice and train now!!

I like this board Mil-Surf and its nice to see an F-one feedback. Does is it say where the country made from?

French company, I believe made in China. Distributed out of CA for the states. BAKS distribution. That’s where I bought mine from, top notch customer service. Those guys know what they are doing there for sure and very easy to work with getting my board shipped.

Quick update that I’m a few months in now on the board. One thing is for sure, F-One has a hell of a board here. I’ve not seen any shortcomings on this board now I’ve gotten comfortable with it and like it even more after demoing a few others. It truly is a do it all board. Knowing where to stand helps a ton! Just a inch or two forward or back makes a HUGE difference! “Trimming” the board has given me noticeable gains whether upwind, downwind, drafting etc. Trying to optimize that is what I’ll now continue to work on. Still looks brand new, construction is top notch

Interesting. What "trims" do you use in what situations? I.e., when are you most forward, most backward, etc?

Little adjustments at best, maybe just a few inches. A bit more forward when I’m drafting. Seems to engage the bow a bit where I’m using a little more of the displacement and volume of the V. Seems to pull me along a bit better then being a  further back . Downwind pretty easy, a bit further back keeping the nose up and surfing a bit more. These are pretty obvious but I find the board just super stable and I can move around the sweet spot a bit. Still trying to figure out that sweet and unlock the potential but again see noticeable differences in speed by just moving around the board a bit. Crosswinds/chop too. Can shift just a tad to windward to engage that rail a bit more while paddling on opposite side helps to track a bit. I feel I have been to stationary on my boards in the past just grinding away and not using the shape and attributes of the boards as designed.

Foil SUP / Re: All-in-1 boards
« on: April 20, 2018, 06:43:22 PM »
Hey Wardog, yes and your designs as well!! Been drooling for a while now. No kiting for me(would never allow myself as a long time windsurfer)and days of prone mostly out due to ongoing injuries which is why I paddle.  Mostly looking to get into foiling on a budget. I can totally justify a new board if I could foil windsurf it in light winds, foil paddle surf in crappy/choppy waves and paddle surf when it’s good. I would have my bases covered without having to add a bunch more equipment. Biggest question is foil boards look like they are getting smaller/beveled rails and all and changing pretty rapidly. Windfoil boards seem to be a bit less drastic but much different shape than the all-round boards. And as far as SUPing goes would probably be a bit wider and floatier than I’m used to, probably a smaller wave board. I’m ok with a bit of compromise but would I be wanting more foil specific boards for a particular purpose in a couple months leaving the all-around board gathering dust? Should I just maybe get a specific set up and see how that goes that I won’t outgrow and then maybe add something else later on? Sorry  for the ramble guys, just trying to justify buying more stuff😀

Foil SUP / All-in-1 boards
« on: April 20, 2018, 03:49:18 PM »
So from an average joe weekend warrior with a background in surfing, paddling and windsurfing that is looking to get into foiling the new do-it-all boards seemed like a dream. Sup, sup-foil, windsurf, windsurf-foil all in one, thin out the quiver while adding foiling. F-One, Naish, Fanatic, Starboard, etc., etc. all make one. All around 7’6-7-11” and 120ish ltrs. seems though(especially after reading the recent  production foil board thread) that designs are still changing fast. Looking for advice from folks already with the foiling bug. Are these boards to good to be true? Instead of buying a do it all board will I be getting a do nothing, compromising on everything board? Maybe wait a bit until foil tech settles down a bit?

Agreed, just a bit scooped out. I gotta drop a few lbs first! I would like the deck flatter though and scooping it out could do that. Having the deck slant inward slightly like it is now surely helps with my stability for sure but after a few hours is rough on my knees.

THAT is a good looking board!!
