I think listing the volume is just one tool we can use looking at a new board. A VERY useful tool to be used with every other kind of information we can get. I don't think anybody will buy a board on the volume number alone, but combined with on-line reviews and all the other dimensions, at least we can make a more informed decision before ordering a board that we have no way to demo.

As a life long surfer, I laughed when they first started posting volume on my sailboards... That is until I figured it out. Knowing the volume on a board is such a good tool to use when selecting any board. I would never consider buying a new sailboard without knowing its volume. So far with Stand-up-boards you have to kinda guess one board next to another one that you know the volume of. I hope that this is going to turn out just like the handles. First everybody scoffed at it, now the board builders figure out that we (the buying public) really want it and will base our purchases on that fact. I think they are starting to listen.

Honestly, I don't watch too many GoPro videos. I find them very boring and they suck big time, showing the same camera angle over and over.. Yours was the best one I have seen yet. I watched the entire thing. Sorry Honolii.

I have been thinking the same thing. I think my 10 foot leash is a bit of an overkill. It drags in the kelp. I think I am going to switch to an eight footer.

Thanks Blane. I can't wait for you to get to work!

Sorry Blane. What I meant to ask is: Are you coming out with a 10 foot WIDE all-arounder, or ripper anytime soon?

Here is another Question for Blane. Are you coming out with a 10 foot all-arounder, or a ripper? If so, when can we expect to be able to get one? Thanks in advance.

I think It would worth the price of admission just to see Dave Kalama strap on a helmet and charge 2 foot waves at the Lane. I wonder if Laird would help him buckle it up?

Yeah! I see a new board in my future. Thank you.

Come on Blane. I even saw a photo of you with a handle on your board. My vote is Yes on the handle. It makes it so much easier getting out of the water where there are slippery rocks and cliffs.

I installed the back footstrap on the Starboard fish. It is too far back to get in the way when I am surfing and it gives me something to hold onto when I am getting worked.
