Gear Talk / New secret weapon in the kelp.

I know you don't have to deal with kelp in Hawaii, but it's as bad as it's ever been in Santa Cruz this year.
You would think with all these big waves and storms it would get ripped out, but so far no dice.
This is going to build up to a REALLY kelpy spring and summer.
I tried out this new fin by Rainbow. It's only 6.5 inches tall, but has enough area to turn and hold in. I tried it as a single fin with no side-biters and it worked great. Went right through the kelp. I love having a board with 5 boxes so I can go from a Quad to a thruster and now a single fin depending on the conditions.

 I wonder how many people will get a 9'11" or shorter board in Oregon:

New 2010 Oregon State Permit Law

The US Coast Guard has determined that stand-up paddle boards are considered boats for the purpose of life jacket requirements. Based on this determination, and if the stand-up paddle board is ten feet or longer, the paddler will need to have one of these permits.

SUP General / Too many categories?

Is it just me or does it seem like there is too many categories?
I am getting lost finding stuff and tend to forget about it after it is reassigned to another category.

These side fins seem very fast with lots of drive. Anybody else try them out yet?
The Speed wings are 4.6" and that is a 6" center fin.

Is it just me and my computer, or are other people experiencing slow load up times with the Zone in the last week or so?
