"SUPer Dave started a nice thread about, "What does your vehicle look like." How about "What do you look like." It's interesting trying to picture how the poster looks like and experience.

I'll start. Me, been around water my whole life spending my first 13 years in California in the Bay Area then the rest in Massachusetts. Minimal surfing experince, 30+ years windsurfing Cape Cod. Did SUPing a few years ago but last year I got hooked. Would like to venture into surf SUPing but age and 9 surgeries may hold me back with 5 knee, 2 shoulder, 1 hand, 1wrist.

Living on Cape Cod.

R.I.P. Patti Page... thanks for putting Cape Cod on the map. I even liked her songs as a kid. She sold 100 million records, that's super star status.

NorthEast / Cape Cod Race September 21, 2013

Excuse the double post here Regional and in the Race thread. Just want to get the word out early.

We have set the date for the Paddle for the Bays Race on Saturday, September 21, 2013 Cotuit/Osterville, Cape Cod so mark that date down in your race calendar. I'm told it's going to be a sanctioned race with a 5/10 course. More details in the coming months. There will be different divisions, Elite, 14' and 12', Recreational, Masters and Youth.

We are still in the preliminary stage of organizing the race just wanted to get the date out early.

Got to love it... October 21 still paddling Nantucket Sound, Cape Cod in boardshorts, sleevelees t-shirt and booties. I didn't even need the booties just to lazy to take them off.

Flatwater and Touring / Fall Touring Gear For The Northeast

What's everyone wearing for fall touring gear in the northeast? Wetsuits, Gortex Jackets, Booties, Gloves, Dry Suits, etc.

I'm going with zip up booties, waterproof windbreaker like jacket and pants not Gortex and felt lined skin diver gloves when needed. Mysterioso underwear when needed or rash guard top and bottom.

Events / Paddle of the Bays Cape Cod Report

The second annual Paddle of the Bays was held Saturday under perfect conditions in Osterville/Cotuit. I believe they more than doubled the amount of paddlers from last year so I can see this becoming a "must do" event on Cape Cod. Good to see some Zoners there Cyclops, ROBB and maybe more i did not meet. Congrats on your wife coming in second ROBB in the Fun Division.

The best part was when some known racers showed up and the Speedboard team. We were not expecting that many serious racers and it was a pleasure to have them there. It was almost a scene out of Star Wars with that many rocket ships (speed boards) displayed on the beach. What a difference in board shapes from the beginning of the summer when I attended the Wellfleet Supathon to last Saturday. I wish I brought my camera.

As far as results I don't have the offical results but I can tell what I do know. Male Elite Div. 1.) Speedboard guy, don't have name but will post when I get the result list. 2.) Chris Bagg <sp> hope that's right. 3.) Don't know, will get name 4.) Cyclops - Gregg Behlman

Female Elite Div. 1.) Kim Reilly 2.) Danielle DeForest <sp> hope that's right 3.) Marta will get last name.

Btw... the elite divison did 2 laps around the island a little over 10 miles.

Amy Hotchkiss and crew did a fantastic job coordinating the paddleboard division. A big thank you for a job well done. Btw... Amy came in first in the fun division. Hopefully, we can double the amount of paddlers again and make this a Fall Classic on Cape Cod.

I will post the offical results when I get them.

Events / Paddle for the Bays Race Cape Cod September 22, 2012

Ok, I just signed up for my first race to benefit Three Bays Preservation of the Town of Barnstable, MA. Sept. 22, 2012 on beautiful Cape Cod. It's basically a 5 mile race around Oyster Harbor although there will be a "elite" 10 mile race twice around Oyster Harbor.
