Looking for a place for our 25th anniversary next fall and was looking at Barbados after looking here on Zone - I had to goggle to see where it was. Wanting some SUP waves and wife needs nice, but not too crazy resort and was thinking an all inclusive resort might be nice. I'm not much of a traveler (only been out of the country once - Scotland to golf), so the simplier the better. I saw where we can fly direct from Atlanta - What would waves be like in the fall and any suggestions on a resort? Thanks from a very, very travel rookie that would be better with my SUP and a tent, but after 25 years with me she deserves something a little better

Looks like we are now going to get a late start so looking at maybe stopping in St. Augustine this Saturday to break up the trip - plus the weather looks nice and the wind seems to be low. Any suggestions in St. Augustine where to go to SUP surf and my boys to prone surf? Any information on parking would be helpful also -- thanks!

Headed from Va to Orlando for Spring Break with the boys this weekend. After a night stay in Sanatee, SC would like to stop in Daytona/New Symrna for the afternoon to get in some SUS and prone surfing for the boys before continuing our trip to Orlando. Not too picky on conditions as I figure it will be an unknown. Thanks for any suggestions of locations and parking.

I bought a 2010 Starboard Blend from a fellow Zoner in June and have misplaced the fin screws. Any suggestions how I can order new ones? -

Just bought a pop-up camper from a buddy. My boys and I do a lot of tent camping, so very excited to now have a pop-up with A/C -- Saw a couple of state parks in Fla that listed surfing, but thought I would reach out to the 'Zone for suggestions. I'm located in Virginia, so going south and/or north is an option - already made reservations ($27 per night) for First Landing in Va. Beach for ECSC in August.....pretty excited to see what I can find.

We're looking at buying a new car - maybe a civic - but was wondering the minium distance the bars on the roof rack should be for a 10 ft. board. Will be driving a lot of interstate, often 3-4 hours to get to the beach - thanks.

The family and I will be driving down I-95 from Richmond to Orlando for Spring Break the first week of April. Would like to stop for two days for me to SUP and the boys to prone surf. We mostly surf Kitty Hawk - any suggestions to stop and stay would be appreciated. thanks

I've defintely caught the SUS bug, but live 2 hours from Va. Beach and it is depressing when the days I can get down there, there is either no ways or 15-20 mph winds. So to help cure the bug, I'm in the market for a second board I can use to cruise on in the neighborhood lakes to get a workout, do the 5-mile paddle trips that the SUP club in Va. Beach does and also able to ride very small waves. I currently have a 10-6 Tim Nolte board with a lot of rocker I love SUS on and know it will "work", but any suggestions or size or length for a second board to do more of the cruising...I might just ask Tim if he can build me a board also. Thanks

I picked up a pupu adjustable paddle last week. It is a minimum 70", but was thinking about cutting down 3 inches, as I would like to try an even shorter paddle. Anyone know if I can cut down the outter-shell shaft and if so will the inner-paddle shift still fit properly? If so, anyone know the max I can cut down the outter-shell? thanks

This was my first summer SUS. I got the hang of it, and I found a surf stance to really help me catch waves compared to a paralle stance. Question though - in my surf stance, with right foot back when trying to catch a wave I can paddle well on the right side, but it causes the board to go right. To straighten it, I have to get in a couple of paddles on the left side of the board and when I do this, I lose speed in the transition. Do you paddle mainly only on one side, and if so, how to you keep the board from making sharp turns when trying to catch a wave? -- thanks.
