Here is a photo of a prone board that was used in the surf and learning to pump. The box was leaking from the front edge. The skin had delaminated from the box, causing the leak. On further investigation the box could move up & down. So, major surgery & a fix. The divini cell was broken and just lifted out.
On boards & pumping - it seems alot of boards were broken at San O 2 years ago from pumping. One big guy seemed to go thru a board per week until the board builder got it right. I think it was wood stringers.

Here is a thread repair insert that is similar to a helicoil - it is a threaded insert - it requires the 6M hole to be redone to a M10 hole with threads. I doesn't need a special tool to install

Welding on the fuse to fill the hole for the threads will mess with the heat treat on the aluminum.

Aviso makes hollow surfboards and kite boards- check out the kite board footstrap detail, they have a track system for the footstrap! In a video they talk of the problems with the plastic fin boxes and making the hollow boards. It looks like they use prepreg carbon a bladder and molds to make the boards.

Check the LA, OC & San Diego craigslist - you can get a SUP Foil board board for $600 to $700 - I am not sure the stick on foil mount bracket will last very long if you intend to pump the board.

I think the stringers are divinycell & carbon, not wood. I like how the boxes are captured in the laminations

On the ones I made I used 3 layers of 5.7oz carbon all at 0-90 orientation with an EPS core. I did not have enough on hand to do a 45 -45 ply.

On the last board I repaired - I did a DW wrap of carbon on the box with a foam inner. I skipped the high density foam, left the top skin in tact and epoxied to the bottom of the deck, with a fiberglass layer for filler. Then filled the gaps on the side with gorilla glue - injected with a syringe, I filled the box opening with a waterproof sheet foam and glassed over the boxes. Then routed the box back open. So the foil mount bolts clamp the carbon skin layer on the bottom of the board.

It looks like you have a good close fit. I have done similar job putting boxes back in. I buttered up both surfaces using a paint brush, then hit it with a mist sprayer and installed it. You need to have a plan to clamp it in place, the foaming will move things around. Figure out you clamping system before you open the glue bottle.
I did my repair a little different see photos, but all set in gorilla glue , neat not foamed but misted on insertion.
