This guy is spot on !.    Having played with many fin set ups on many boards I found I could vary how a board performs.  By changing fins sizes, setups, single to thruster to quads , various sizes in each setup is a lot of fun.
Ive had friends want to get rid of a boards do the way they ride.   Getting them to thinks out side the box changing fins and sizes somrtimes reaps some big smiles and saved them some money,. it has me   Fins are cheaper than boards.
I change fins based on the waves and conditions encounterd.    Experimenting is a gas !!!!!!!!!

paddle on and fin up !

Seems we have moral issue at had, or mabe it was always there.   Books, articles and news cast have become complicit with fake news attempting persuade the reader at all cost.    I find both sides unable to to tell the truth.
Half truths and facts left out are just that.   Money is the driver for some for others its power.    Spooky is the right word in addition to scary describes how many feel today.     Its good to read both sides, evaluate the sources and don't a make decision on emotion, facts produce better results !  In my book winning at any cost, no matter how deceptive usually yields problems down the line.    Deliberately  misleading is a moral issue.

It's hard to find the truth, it is out there !

Reading is far better than listening to 1 min news clips !

Happy hunting and paddling !

I have an older 12' PSH gun with no vent plug.   Board is probably a 2010 in very good shape, very srtong construction with no issues.   It has no vent plug.   I bought it used and have no idea if it ever traveled in high altitude.   I'm wondering if I need to intall one if I travel with it !

Thanks for any input

Seems to me somewhere along the line we have lost the fact that character counts.   Be it  Repub, Dem or Independent those elected all in time become very wealthy, they have in my view not lived up to the oaths they took as elected representatives.   Some have been there far to long with little to show their time in office.
Far to many have been brought on criminal charges.    They seem to cater to social media and help spred false news that fits their personal agenda,  not whats best for the country.    As for me actions speak louder than words !
THose who yell the loudest, use name calling and insults on others usually are attempting to direct attention away from them selves and their lack of  accomplishment.   Which ever way one leans, I hope our conclusions are based on facts, results  and not blindly following false emtions that make us feel good.    Reading good books from both sides will usually bring us back to the middle with minor adjustments we all can agree on !   There are always two sides to every story if we have the courage to find it !

Some like short boards, some like longer.  Some like the waves, some like the flat water
End the end we all love the SUP !

Happy hunting for the truth !

Read on ? Paddle on !

Thanks, but Im in CA.   I'm not really looking for an E-Bike, just wondering how far and how long people ride when rehabilating their knees.    Most days I'm doing 4 miles on a flat smooth surface with good results so far.

Auto Im was initiated from a very bad case of food poisioning in conjuction with a rare gene I have that an estimated 6% of the world has.   The gene manfest as Reiters Syndrome.    Like Weasles, I have no cartilage in both knees from 40 yrs of windsurfing construction etc.   9 months after recovery from the infection which put me on a walker for a while, My new doc figured out why I was not progressing.    My uric acid levels were 3 times normal, which creates crystals that ache and feel like broken glass in your joints.
After tons of blood test he put me on Aloepurinol for life and changed my diet.   Once acid levels were back to normal I have been able to windsurf, paddle board and bike.   Prone surfing is gone.   Cartilage will never be back so now its manage my life better and delay knee replacements as long as possible.   Any purine producing foods are gone out of my diet as well as suger free diet.   Sometimes I slip on special events !
All in all things are getting better.    I have never been a big bike rider, but now Im starting really enjoy it !  Im fighting to stay on the water, at 66 its fun battle !   My understanding about Auti IM deseases is , there unlimited types that seem to develope as we age, there is no cures just treatments and life management.

Good Luck in your quest to get back to sports.    They tell the emotional battle is a important as the physical fight !

PADDLE ON !!!!!!!!

Any cyclist out there that can recommend how often how far ?   I am recovering from knee infections associated with an auto imunme desease.   My Dr has prescribed 1/2 a day min.  To keep uric acid in my joints down & lubricated.   I have been doing this now for 3 months with good results.   I ride a 21 speed touring bike.  Im looking to increase my training,  due to my knees I only ride on flat terrain, hills cause to my pain at this point.  MY Dr say let your pain be your guide.   I usually get to paddle 5 times a week, some times waves some flat water.   Biking has really helped with my knee flexability and reducing knee pain.

Thanks

SUP General / Re: Longboard size for smaller waves
« on: January 01, 2019, 11:07:22 AM »
Anything in the 10 ft range that has a longboard (surfboard style) out line with a flatter rocker line for glide, single fin longboard style has the most glide.   Lots to pick out there !    I ride a Bill Foote 11 ft that catches ripples, wide nose for nose riding it is thin I believe 4 1/4" thick thin rails turn better in small waves.   Lots of used onearound so maybe you could test drive some before you buy !

Happy hunting !!!

In my mid 50's, we were servicing some a/c equipment on top of Gas Company Bldg in downtown L A, 55 stories.
There is 5' parapet wall around the top you can look over and window cleaning davids the window cleaners use to repel their scafolds from.   I watch these guys with no hesitation lower them selves off to work, wow.   I took a look over the edge and the view buckled my knees staring down on a mild windy day, yes these bldg do sway some.   All things being equal or not,  riding 50 ft waves, climbing cliffs all is speculation for most of us because we have never done nor will we.   I surf with a friend on sup in some ( to me giant waves 20ft faces ) the sets are making my knees shake and he telling jokes.   I've seen him in bigger stuff alone, then I found out in his younger days he was Half Dome climber among other things.

These guys and gals are wired different than we average thrill seekers.   They have a different view of the skills needed, the consequences of failure and the dedication required to attain the goals they strive for.    Most are very calculating individuals.   All in all a different breed !   The most impressive are the ones who do it with out the pressence of the cameras, sponsors and glitch.   In my book the Jeff Clarks of the world are king of pioneering !
