Hawaii / Rental Property help....and zoner discount
« on: March 27, 2017, 10:40:20 AM »
Aloha - I'm setting up a rental condo at Turtle Bay and was looking for anyone who knew any good cleaning service and handyman for when I'm not there.

Also any zoner gets discount $125/night no GET or any other fees. Condo is on golf course, two king beds, two pull out couches.

I'll send link when we close escrow April 12th.

Any input would be appreciated.

Are the gates needed?  It looks strong as is.

US fin box mounts is a great idea for your T foil and would be cool for GF3 for the Flat V.  I am thinking of doing that for both of the flat V's on my Swell Sled.  Two plates in each box.  4 boxes.  Maybe a foot of combined fore/aft adjustment with long boxes.

Yes, I think so. This is a fast and loose build and the joints need a lot of strength and rigidity if they aren't supported. Might be overkill, but that's my middle name. Well, actually, I don't have a middle name, but if I did...

The wrap on the edge of the upper plate worked better than expected. I think I'll foil the bottom edge to make it easier to glass and wrap it, and go for a good size overlap using the peel ply "technique" which is another terms for "bodge".

I want to see that on your electric car (not really).....where is that car...was that a tease? I want to do the same thing was hoping to learn from your journey:)  sorry for the hijack...just got me thinking.

I watched a lot of the pros on Saturday tearing it up....not sure why it didn't go....yesterday was too windy but its amazing how they can make crappy conditions look good.  They get speed and power by pumping and paddling then SMACK! So much energy.

Thursday looks promising on surflie.

I'll share it on my Instagram least I could do. I always leave my boards in the bed of my truck or on top with no issues. I hate locking everything thing up, but that's what we have to do now days.

I know, the monetary loss is not what bothers me its the fricken point. I dont lock anything.

the New funmobile, Hood river version. I'm going to get some shit from Covesurfer and Headmount about this, I know.

Those metal hooks "sing" when you hit freeway speeds, I took mine off. Nice ride. I didnt know (didnt look too hard) there was a tonnau cover that worked around those racks.  Noticed you made your own rack pads...its hard to get regular pads to fit those wide bars.

So....my Phantom 4 lasted 3 weeks and now is back at DJI service.....even though it has front and bottom collision avoidance it doesnt have back or side, which my son proved very effectively as he rammed it into a tree in our front yard.
Bought the new MacBook pro with Final Cut Pro X. Sat down to start playing with it and realized it had no USB ports.  I couldn't even download my fricken files.....GGGRRRR why does Apple keep pissing me off.

So, finally got out this am...3-4+ chest high, glassy about 1000 Yards North of Huntington Beach Pier.

Was nervous due to low volume and also the Hextraction.

Initial reaction was it was that the flotation was definitely lacking but once i stood up on it i felt comfortable and after a few paddle strokes it was business as usual.  It wasn't until about an hour and a half into it that i fell a few times while standing waiting for waves. Maybe i was getting tired.

As far as paddling into waves, the board was great getting up on a plane and driving down the line.  I spun it on the first wave I saw and pumped down the line got a couple of lip smacks and was instantly stoked.

I noticed that the board felt really connected to my feet, maybe because of the lack of a deck pad. I had a couple of floaters and the board seemed stuck to my feet. I was stoked.

The only negative was when I was belly/prone paddling out the paddle seemed to be sliding from right to left side on my board as i got hit with whitewater.  There is zero traction for the paddle except my fat belly/wetsuit material.

At one point I kneeled and was quickly reminded by the pain/roughness in my feet that there was no comfy deck pad.

So far Im completely stoked. I cant wait to get it in some real waves.

Yes, the assumption is your board is submerged and the stability like you said is more about the shape.  Unless it was exaggerated....say 2" thick then it would be like a step deck as exiled suggested.
