I reallyiked the versa traction. Felt the board well for surfing like wax, but no mess and no worries when my wife like when my wife took the board to the bay on a hot day right after I pit a fresh new wax Jon on it! It comes as just a nose kit too, and sells for like $28. Plus it's not nearly as abrasive as the spray, though that works well too.

We posted under announcements, but we host a regular, and free, group paddle every Monday night in Morro Bay, CA. Don't want to take up space in the general forum, but we thought any central coast of California residents would appreciate just one announcement!

Interesting name. Since I live in Cayucos, California I happen to know Cayuco means "little kayak." So is this a difference in languages (Italian vs Spanish) or did dragorossi just think it is a cool name and it wouldn't matter if they named an SUP "kayak"?

This is why I've opened my own shop....I managed the one shop in the region that had any SUP presence, and it was just in private label generic boards no one wanted.....the owner saw $ signs but wasn't really into it. The other regional shops have turned down the chance to get into time and time again, their loss.

Since I came out of tue whitewater world originally, I see SUP going solo or combined with paddlsports. Surf retailing is a thing unto itself, and has next to nothing to do with the sport itself any more. If I wanted to work in a t shirt boutique I would have stayed where I was, but I love SUP and want to be a part of it!

Opening the beginning of September, CCSUP is the only SUP dedicated shop on California's central coast. Located in the heart of Morro Bay the water is just a few blocks away to demo boards. And if you're looking for surf, we have that too, just a little further!
