i believe Boom is better for lighter wind and handles for wave riding which in my spot they arrive only when the wind pick up.
I also prefer to have one quiver board not being confortable yet with the water start.
So here is my quiver :
Board: Fanatic Sky Wing 5'0 (75lt)
Wings: Duotone Echo 5 and Duotone Unit 4 and Duotone Unit 3.3
Foil: Armstrong 1250Hs/232/85

Wingsurfing, Windfoiling, Wingfoiling, Wing SUP / Amos or FFB?
« on: March 05, 2021, 11:30:52 AM »
hi everyone,
i'm thinking upgrading my current board (a Fanatic Sky Wing which i love) to a lighter custom board.
2 brands got my attention: Amos Shape and Freedom Foil Boards.
Anyone want to share their experiences with them? or maybe suggest something else?
Thank you!

Hey Dwight,
Since i understand youíve tried them, how do you compare the Mantis and the Strike? Thanks!

Hi everyone,
Iím again on this topic since I find out some Brands (like Quatro) are offering only the offset position on their board.
Someone says that the offset position is better for going upwind since you edge more on the rail (that make sense) but not as good for pumping and landing jumps since you are not centered and then balanced on the boards (that make sense too for me), but unfortunately I did not tried it myself yet.  Do you find this info correct?
On the other side I also noticed other brands (like JP) are offering with their 2021 wing boards the 3 options for the straps: V, centered and offset which is cool I think so the customer can try what is best for their ride.
Thanks

So it seems they will offer both versions of the same wing with and without windows. So everybody will be happy 😃

Hello Wind!
i had the 1550hs but i sold it after i surprisingly noticed i could go with the 1250hs in 11/12 knots with a 5 mt (i am 60 kg and i think i have good pumping technique).
The 1250HS is fast but very controllable in high speed and for wave riding is the best i tried, it never breaches and give you the full control of what you want to do.
I'm using it now with 0 shim but i want to try it with +1.
For now i don't have really downsides of this wing.

I understand your point. I was thinking in fact about a weekly or monthly appointment during the weekend when everybody should be more free and relaxed.

Anyone on the new social Clubhouse? It will be so cool to create a wingfoil room there!

They say Strike also is heavier than the Swing

I solved with Ion pre curved gloves.
Warm and no arm pump

I love to keep my foils always like new, usually I pay a professionist to the the job, I never thought about the technique to use to fix the scartches, but I found this on YouTube:

https://youtu.be/Fs1B8Lzz7E4

This guy is using either putty with black pigmented powder and hardener or bi component epoxy.
Is that tutorial correct?
Do you guys follow other procedures?
Thanks!

I did a custom carbon boom cutting a windsurf race carbon boom (in order to make it adjustable) and i used the plastic ends of the original duotone boom.
I wanted at the beginning the make custom carbon ends but it was too comolicate and too expensive.
The weight is almost the same of the original boom but the wing benefits in a very noticeable way. More rigid and more responsive.
