I've been watching MMA for a long time and i'm confused at how many people like BJ Penn.  He shows up to most of his fights out of shape, and the guy is a jerk.  It's one thing to be a jerk and back it up, but he is just so inconsistant.  He had the best fight of his career not long ago and was in great shape.  Finally I was impressed.  Next fight he shows up out of shape and loses. 

I just don't get why people like him.  He is a lazy smack talker that has coasted on his talent.  Very happy Edgar beat him again.  Edger obviously works hard.

I've got a Garmin 60csx and it works great - tracks speed, distance, routes etc.  It has been discontinued recently, however.  The 62 has taken it's place, and has a few more features.  The 76 csx has the same features as the 60csx but it floats, so it might be a better choice. I highly recommend the Garmin line.

I too have the Yakima racks.  Initially I didn't want the wind deflector becasue it says "YAKIMA" on it and I don't want to advertise for someone unless I'm getting paid for it.  As soon as I drove at highway speeds, though, I noticed a humming sound that was loud enough to drown out my stereo.  I decided to buy the wind deflector and black out the "YAKIMA" with a sharpie.  Problem solved.

Pelican makes some cases that might work.  A friend of mine left his laptop in one of their cases and it floated away at high tide, so they hopped in a boat and tracked it down.  No damage to the laptop at all.  Here's the link:

  Island Longboards in Coombs, Valhalla Pure Outfitters in Nanaimo, Alberni Outpost in Nanaimo, and Live to Surf in Tofino.  There's also a place here in Victoria but I can't think of the name off the top of my head.

Whereabouts are you on the Island?  I know of at least 4 or 5 different shops that carry (or can bring in) Starboard, Infinity, Gerry Lopez, Bark, Naish, etc.  (I also live on the Island and work in a shop that sells SUP's).   Prices are right around $1500 (depending on brand, length, material, and whatnot).
