I was at the International Builders Show last week in Vegas. I came across this new product. Rheem is a huge water heater / heating unit company. Their engineers came up with this idea and funded it / market check as a Indiegogo. They met their goal easily, and are putting it into production. Runs on a GFI protected 120v outlet and any hose bib. I dig it!

My friend and I have been friends for over 40 years. Our mom's use to drive us to the skateparks. We were even on the same skatepark team. Yesterday we had an epic surf session together and had the break all to ourselves. I'll put together a video, but I must of had 40+ waves (most OH) in 3 hours. I was toast.
In this picture we both realized we were about to get cleaned up. And we did:)

Oki got me motivated to post some recent footage. I've been surfing a lot but not filming, so I went for a dual POV outing and edited it in Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm just starting to figure it out. No smooth transitions. Haven't figured out how to do that yet??  I noticed the quality exported lower than I thought.

Gear Talk / Drying out your wetsuit...

I have a number of wetsuits that go unused for a good percentage of a year. In the past if needed a wetsuit two days in a row, I would just use a different wetsuit if one was still wet from surfing the day before. I recently bought a new wetsuit that fits me better than my other/older ones. Now that winter has hit SoCAL and the water and air has dipped into the lower 60's  I've been wearing and favoring my new RipCurl 3/2 full-suit. We haven't had as much sun lately, so I've been hanging it in my shop to dry. The next day it's still wet inside. I'm not going to drive around with it hanging on my car mirror either. I'm looking at buying one of these. Anyone have their own tricks for drying their suits?

Random / Road bike racing looks to be losing mass interest in the US.

The fate of bicycle road racing may be mirroring that of SUP racing in the US. I used to be into doing road bike racing years ago, but I just got too dangerous to ride on the roads in Southern California. Maybe electric bikes are becoming a bigger market? When I see someone riding a non-electric bike, I think good for them. They are the minority around here these days. Plus the stationary bikes like Peloton and spinning classes are pretty big these days.

Technique / Pumping up and down the face to generate speed and smack the lip!

Here's a short video, and I mean short. Even for a tall guy
I just wanted to share my approach to surfing. It starts back in my skateboarding days where you pump your board and generate speed to do something at the end with that speed. I've never been of the mindset to just go along for the ride. I want to take the wave energy given to me and use that as a launch pad to do something more. Style master I'm not. Drop turn hit drop turn hit I am. A slasher I guess? Sometimes it's not pretty, but I don't care as long as I'm going faster.

Maybe some of you will get something out of this? Anyway thanks for watching.

APPST (Adam) was out West this weekend and caught the swell and water conditions perfect. We had a fun session at DoHo this morning. There was a half submerged AnonSurf sighting on one of his Tic Tac micro boards too. Here are some pics..

We're have a little swell and the water is glassy and warm. Had my GoPro paddle mount rolling and my friend Pauly shooting from the beach. Here's the stills. Had a few good beat downs and one almost over the falls. I'm feeling it in my back and shoulders. Time for a nap
