Juan Surfos Surf Shop They should have a good selection.  www.Juansurfosurfshop.com They call the owner Spicoli.  He is super cool.  You might want to bring a travel paddle just in case they only have beater paddles and you are particular about the paddle.  Might also need to bring a good leash as well. He is close to the surf.  Que tenga un buen viaje.

Check the Manresa cam.  Amazing sand bars there in La Selva in the winter.  Not many town guys go south.  As mentioned, if you share and have a great attitude, no problems.  Great surf town for sure.  Have fun.

Old mans (Sano) app is pretty cool for local surf forecasting.  I know that they have expanded areas as well.

I have really crappy shoulders now.  Many past rotator injuries.  I can paddle okay with them and was wondering if I ditched the paddle for a wing if it would make it worse. Anyone feel a lot of shoulder pull from extended wing foiling?  Anyone with bad shoulders have to stop wing foiling after they started?  Thanks.

Gear Talk / Re: Help deciding which wetsuit?

My QS suits have lasted 4 plus years.  (4/3 and 3/2) 4/3 is still in service.
I just replaced my 3/2 QS with a 3/2 Need Essentials last May.  Purchased at the boardroom in Del Mar. Been using it all winter and it’s holding up well. Fit is great. Warm enough for so cal.

I also have a 2mil Short sleeve Xcel that has lasted a long time. Great quality and fit.

One suggestion that’s pretty obvious for those with shoulder issues, you might consider a back zip. Initially I felt like Houdini trying to get out of my new chest zip NE suit.  Not a problem with the design just my bad shoulder.

Sweet video.  The cove looked pretty clean in the video. Thats a cool place to paddle.  TD is correct on the forecast.  We might get a surprise tomorrow morning though?  Cross your fingers.  Cardiff has some great sand bars going on now. When it cleans up Thursday and Friday you will score.

Gear Talk / Re: SUP Travel Packing Tips - 2 Boards

Great CR tips in the thread.  We have a group of 4 targeting the Playa Marbella area in April. Anyone have experience with the Marbella surf inn?  Any tips on house or hotel rentals in the Nosara area?

Was thinking of taking 1 sup board and my foil board if there are waves to foil on in this area?  Any foil waves in the area that or should I just leave it at home?

I like the two paddles tip and will bring them for sure.  Thanks.

Foil SUP / Re: Adjusting your rear wing

Love the washer tip and the comment on box positioning of your mast. There is definitely a sweet spot for postioning of the mast in an adjustable box. Too far forward and it bucks you off or feels unstable.

I stand up foil and last summer when I was starting to foil, I had my mast about 1.5 inches forward in the box. Up to that point I never really had any solid rides for my first 5 sessions (normal experience, yes). On my 6th session I decided to move the mast as far back toward the tail as possible and I have been flying ever since.

Hard to believe that the 1.5” or the washer tip make a difference but these seemingly small adjustments between each session actually work.

Great paddling tips.  Leaning back and pushing your Board forward over the oncoming wave for the most part is also safer for other paddlers and surfers near us. Like the video states, I also find that I can frequently get back on my board faster.

If you can paddle out prone, the “Paddle Belt” is another great option that I use. Your hands are free to hold both rails of your Board. It also saved my butt at Hanalei last winter when I had to swim after my lost SUP Board.  Super easy to swim in with the paddle.
