Just left my inflatable at the shop where it was acquired. Apparently there is something wrong with the fin system since the fin (FCS Touring 9") got pulled out of the box (by water) during all of my last three training sessions. The retailers weren't sure whether it is the fin or the box.
Somethings wrong with your retailer; it's not the fin, it's the fin box. The inflatable fin boxes just suck. It is what it is and nothing they can do. Use a standard screw fin and tape up your fin for a tighter fit. Most SUP manufacturers still use boxes built on the windsurfing standard (wider fin width) rather then the standard longboard surf box (narrower fin width). I'd guess it's where they've gone wrong with the inflatable boxes. All my standard fins wobbled in my inflatable boxes (I've had a few) and although the click-ins didn't wobble, they never clicked-in properly and I always knew I was taking a chance that they might just pop out. I dig click in fins, but even with the much tigher and proper tolerance in the FCS II surfboard boxes, they still just fall out. Part the reason, I run Futures in my surfboards and if I'm open ocean paddling, I never put in one of my click-in fins.

Bert thinks through every phase and concept of his boards.
Believe me Tom, I know. Tried anyway... On the flip side my surfboard shapers all prefer Futures. Me too.

Decided on FCS2 fin boxes.
Yeah, I tried to get my Speeed with FCS2 and that was a big "NO".

Bad idea. First, you'd have to reposition the front fin positions as well as the rear. The beautiful bottom of your Sunova is going to look like a hack job and your board's resale value just tanked. Burt's gonna freak.

I wonder if 12' x 30" x 5" x 192.2L would be too thick and too much volume for 150 lbs? H2O sports has one on sale.
I weight 160 and no worries. The tail is narrow and the rails are very refined and thinned out. The reason it surfs so well. Yes, I have seen the H2Outlet pricing, but no phone contact is always a red flag. I did track them down to the same complex as Surftech, so I'm guessing it's just their liquidation website. I'd call Surftech direct and ask.

Always wanted a 12' Search, but had to settle for shorter as it was Sunova's "pre-container" days.
I'd take a look at finding a 12' Bark Excursion. Designed in a similar surfboard style, but has excellent speed on the flats for it genre. It's also very stable at it's 30" width and the surfboard nose is very forgiving in wind and rougher conditions.
No it's not going to touch a 25" wide 12'6" race board, but it's fast enough. The bonus is there are maybe only a couple of other 12 footers out there that might surf as well.
Saw a new one on the LA Craigslist for $699-$799ish recently and was tempted just for a backup. If you can find one around a grand, you'll be stoked.

FYI, I tried the shorty as well. Unless you're Harry Houdini, the arm hole entry is for the birds.
I agree. I have a medium patagoinia impact suit. Would use it more but getting on through the armhole is very challenging. Wondering if anyone has come up with a modification to this entry? Otherwise will stick to my Gorru vest.
Bob
I'm sure an old school wetsuit shop could easily convert one of the shoulders to an old school velcro opening. Not big wave proof, but at least it's usable.

If someone got a Large vest and it doesn't fit, I'll take it.
I kept checking and a Large popped up for order. Cool, I dig it. FYI, not much stretch because of the padding. Can't wait to pop up like a cork. Thanks digger71.
