This is very encouraging. I live on Lake Champlain and have dreamed about trying to SUPfoil here. If the wind is strong (25+), we can get solid 3'+ waves. Water is pretty cold here now though (3°C), so still have a couple weeks before I'll get out there.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Sounds good, foil is definetly the way with those conditions !

Thanks for the info!
It did seem very windy judging from the white caps, but yet the swell didn't seem all that big.
Mad props on your skill to get a fairly small wing going in that small wind swell!
I think wind swell is easier, bumps are steeper (because of the short interval)

Nice video!
I'm curious about the downwind section at the 2:00 mark.
How windy was it? How big was the wind swell? What size wing and mast?
It was super windy 35/40nd but no ground swell, only wind swell (2/3ft)as it is a very protected area. I was using the Axis 1000 front wing with 75cm mast. This wing is not the easiest to take off but it is fast and good for carving.

In France we are in our 3rd week of lockdown. The area where I live is not bad, hospital around don't have many people sick so far but in others states it is pretty bad. Seems like things should start to slow down this week but still we don't when we will able to go back to normal life. The lockdown is at least until 15th of april.
The entire coastline is close, I live in a small quiet town so I can go run all by myself, I also try to stay fit doing some home training.
I've had many injuries which took me out long time (the worst was 6 months without surfing) the last few years so I already know the feeling of staying home, and everytime I went back in better shape !
Take care.
Imagine the joy of going back, it is gonna be so good !!

Great skills and stamina FF! Very impressive.
Thanks, like I said I'm used to foil in cold water so being in warm water felt way easier

This was during my last trip to the french carribean.
Kind of tricky as it gets really shallow sometimes but foiling in warm water makes a huge difference, so much easier to pump.

In France I offer Foil camp and private lesson. First you teach how the foil works as it is important to understand this part and you do some work out on land (especially working on balance). Then paddling technique, foil behind a boat and finally on the wave (we are lucky to get some good foiling spots around).

Might be a good help for dw, catching can be hard sometimes.

Little dw on the prone, wind was light, it was just a short run, just to see if I can try a long one someday. No fall allowed

Just in terms of ease of take off (how much wind to take off) our foils go 1020, 920, 1000, 900. The 1020 and 920 are pretty close together as are the 1000 and 900. There is a decent gap between the 920 and the 1000. Does the 1010 fill it?
I just a dwinder with the 101/flat stab. It wasn't a big dw, around 18nd but with wind swell bumps. It is definetly easier to take off than the 900 or 1000. But not as easy as the 102. Maybe close to the 92. I didn't have my gps watch and I was foiling with 14' racers no other foiler so hard to tell the speed. It felt really stable and fast, I didn't have to use my paddle during the run, only quick pumping to speed up when needed which is good thing. Compared to the 1000, it is not as good for turning/carving but the it is way more forgiving, when you loose your momentum/speed you stay up longer which allows you to speed up (pumping or paddling). I need to see how fast it is but I think on a bigger dw I might use a smaller stab (I'm thinking making a smaller stab) and a 90cm mast. This match my expectation, I was looking for something between the 102/92 and the 1000, and this is exactly watch it is.

Overall, I suppose. How would you describe the amount lift / ease of takeoff compared to the 900 and 1000?
For surfing it has a nice gradual lift but I thnik with the flat stab being quite "big" you can feel some extra lift compared to 900 and 1000. Maybe I should try it with a smaller stab for surfing. I haven't used it dw yet but I should do it soon, I will you know.

Just got the 101 HA front wing & 460 flat stab.
For me it is more a dw foil but I tried on small wave to see how it was.
Easy gradual lift (like most HA wing), amazing glide, easy to pump back out as it stays up longer and hold it at low speed. Turns ok, I mean you need some space and slow wave but you can do pretty good turns. At 70 kg I don't need it for surfing (except if I want to connect x10 waves) but for bigger guys especially on a sup it might be a good choice.
Excellent FF! How would you say it compares with the 1000 and 900 just in terms of push needed to get airborn?
You mean dw ?
