IMO..I would pass on the NSP and the Bonga unless you are very light.

The Kalama is very nice but if you can get the Kalama you should also be able to get the new Waldon board..It's done by the same people..(Global Surf Industries)

It has stepped rails like the Bonga but at 10'10" and 31" wide it's very stable...I really liked it.

Here's a few pics that I took of it.

I checked it out last week...It's nice..but..IMO..It's more of a sailboard that you can SUP on..(not that there's anything wrong with that.. ;D)

It's a better shape than the last Pacifico..but still a bit thick through the nose..IMO..At least the rails are not thick and boxy.

Here's my pics that I took of the board.

Fantastic pictures Blane.. :o

Just wondering..does the vest help much getting back up for air or is it more a safety thing if you hit your head or something.

Here's one way to handle punching through the shore pound.

Great....but one of those cop's could have carried his boards for him.. ;D

Small wave, as in something to make the most of the teeny waves here in the Gulf of Mexico.  Is 10' too small to get the glide on the small ones?

To be honest..I think so..but it depends on your skill level.

I'm sure others will disagree with me on this but I think a bigger board might be better for you.

Looks like you guys had a blast and got blessed with some awesome weather.  Were there any ladies in the contest or just guys?

There was only one female..and she did very well and finished third.... ;D....(Jeeez I'll be in trouble now).

Just kidding Wes...Really...(lucky he lives a long way from me).

Actually just when we were about to start..I'm waiting for the GO!..and I look around and think 'where's Wes'.

Be was in the bushes behind us having a quick nervous pee.. :o....and yeah..he was standing up.. ;D

Also thanks everyone for your kind words..I'm glad you liked my pics...I can't see myself as a blogger..whatever that is...I'm lucky to be able to post a pic..sorry about all the spelling errors...I was rushing it a bit..and I can't spell.. ;D

I wasn't sure if you meant "small" wave board or "small wave" board.

For small waves my first choice would be the new bigger Bonga..The Walden..It's 10'10"

Here's a link.. http://www.surfindustries.com/products/waldenSUP.php

It has a stepped rial like the Bong..but much wider and more stable..It should also work well in bigger waves.

I had a go on it the other day on flat water and was very impressed.

also..if you're 185 lbs (85kg) you might be at the upper weight range for a 10'6" like my Naish..

I'm only 88kg and mine only just floats me..Not sure about the other 10'6"s.

Hi from another fellow Aussie.

Teatrea?..My guess is that its after a common Aussie tree that grows around waterholes.

There's a great spot near Lenox head were there is this little lake right next to the main surf beach and the water is a dark redish brown color..It's the tea trees all around the lake doing it.

People bath in the lake and they say it is very good for you.

also ...am i still the only one who uses a STRAIGHT BLADE?...all ive ever seen is guys with angled blades out there...

Me too..That makes two of us.. ;D..I also like the bigger blade area..I hate that feeling when you can overpower a blade.

I'd like to see a major paddle company do a straight blade option...just for us freaks.. ;D

BTW...Thanks for all the pics and report Byronmaui.. ;)..I find all this paddle stuff very interesting.

I had to vote NO...but I also can't wait to.

I go to a widsurfing comp every year and last year the top winning guys were all sailing sup boards in a fluky 8-10 knoter...I did not even try with my wave board..Next year I will have my Naish sup.

So we're sure to get gail force winds in the future.. ;D
