They must all be custom. The color schemes are all different. Did Mark R, Slater Trout, or Ekolu Kalama race?

PB, are the posts not in chronological order because Dave wanted to highlight the stroke techniques first? Dave should get into some video clips. Either way the site is great and it would be nice if more of top athletes had a website too.

A good test would be to hang weights on the shaft. Quickblade has picture ad of it and I remember an interview with Dave Chun saying that Kialoa uses a similar method for testing.

Standup Paddle Magazine uses "SUP"

Here's a couple of pics of a new Aussie made 12'6" flatwater race board.

Those DC boards look fast and with nice paint/graphics. Also the Lahuikai boards have cool looking paint schemes.

Hey JC, was the F16 that you tried the v1 or v2? Hopefully a local dealer can bring in the Starboard race boards.

Is the board paint supposed to look like that?

Any reason why Livio went with Scott's Custom SIC than his F16v2?

I understand Mark's explanation of the pre-preg autoclave construction but anyone know why OC1 paddlers prefer the strength of the Scorpius made in Hawaii vs the China factory?

I wonder why Mark R. boards have a glossy bottom?  8)

I also have the c4 paddle. I had the first generation which had a softer, longer blade. I felt I was loosing some power there and sold it. Then I recently got the newer version of their Kevlar paddle. It has the same shape blade as the normal paddles c4  produces and has the bright Kevlar weave on both the shaft and blade. It is super stiff. The shaft is really large in diameter and I find it less comfortable.
I also have a kialoa Shaka pu. That is their mid sized blade, and the shaft is a little smaller. This is my paddle of choice. This has the best all around sized blade.a bigger blade isn't always better or faster. A smaller size, with a faster cadence is easier on your body and you can react to speed changes quicker.
Good luck. My vote is kialoa

Mcnally how can someone find if they have the first generation xpr? Or are you thinking of the xpr with carbon shaft = first gen and xpr with kevlar shaft = 2nd gen. Thanks

On a more serious note, good luck to everyone. A channel crossing is on my to-do list.  :)
I wonder what Mark and Jeremy will be paddling - F16v2, F18 custom, ...?

A downside of the matte finish on the Naish boards is that my friends 14ft Glide has black marks from the Dakine tiedown straps.
