borrowed it from my friend for a little while...4'0"...48 inches...SUP related because i can paddle it as a SUP...not well and only in the pool so far but it works!!...thanks Chris!

Random / i finally did it!!..airplane related

i finally took a flight in an airplane much smaller than a jumbo jet got to sit inthe cockpit, look at all the dials knobs and stitches and listen to air traffic control and everything...only a quick 30 min hop but still got airsick all the same...was lots of fun but scary as hell too...kind of like a rollercoaster ride with no track...the thing actually took off and landed SIDEWAYS!!!...i think they call it crabbing...was a heck of a lot of fun

both planes are owned by this guy... retired USMC MSSGT Robert Stambovsky...vietnam vet....flight instructor of just about every rating there is...and just a really great, nice guy...check out that haircut....HOOOOORAAAAAAAAA!!!!

my good friend Tim...known him for 10 years...vietnam vet...huey chopper pilot...flew with comander chuck street(morning radio helicopter traffic guy in the L.A. area)...these guys got some stories to tell....

THIS little bugger is FAST!!!...can probably fit in a 2 car garage too...

somebody out here in socal has one of those MOREY "ONE" 4' bodyboards that can be used as a bodyboard/surfboard/skimboard...i remember it mentioned a loooong time ago...

can i borrow it for a day or a week?....i would like to try one out...

ok boys and girls this is an example of what NOT to do...as a surfer in general(SUP/longboard/shortboard/bodyboard/skimboard/paipo/handboard) this pic makes me want to throw rocks...

1-5 SUPs forming a skirmish line across the top of the point picking off EVERYTHING coming in...

#6 guy is cool though...cruzin the inside by himself taking inbetweeners...not bothering nobody but getting a BAD REP anyway as a result of all the idiots on the outside...

help us settle a disagreement/understanding/are you sure?...

how important is knowing the density altitude when you are coming in for a landing???...for example at someplace high like big bear airport 6000+ ft...with 12,000 ft mountains all around...

i know it is critical when you are taking off...so much so that you could be grounded until nightime when it gets cooler...it all depends on what your E6-B says...right?

but when you are coming in for a landing the engine is basically at idle and you are gliding in...if you fall below the glideslope you just gas it a little and hit the runway a bit faster and take a longer runout...right?...at least thats what some of the prop guys i have talked with have said...

basically they just check the altimeter and wind and shoot the approach and if the air is thin they just have to come in hotter...sometimes ATC gives them the density altitude and sometimes not...they dont usually care what it is when landing...

is that right?

Suspected surf shop robbers arrested after chase

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS

- A man and a woman are under arrest today after leading police on a chase following the robbery of a Mission Beach surf shop.

According to police, the suspects were spotted about 30 minutes after the armed robbery in a white Lexus sedan at 25th Street and State Route 94 at about 11 a.m.

A gun was thrown out of the sedan by a suspect in the 900 block of 22nd Street during the chase, officials said. It was later recovered by police.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and it flipped in the 600 block of 24th Street, where it crashed into a parked truck. The two suspects were then taken into custody and treated for minor injuries.

The Shape Shack / HELP?...styrofoam board and polyester resin = BAD

so i hit a rock last week with my EPS *i think* popout regular surfboard...one of those epoxy boards with the styrofoam inside...it fractured the epoxy and glass around the fin box so i decided to try and fix it today...

totally forgot about the foam composition...just used regular old polyester resin from Home Depot...WRONG...the second i poured it on the foam started to slowly melt...where the heck are all these bubbles coming from?!?!?!...after 5 min...UH OHHHH?!?!!...after 10min its all over...this is BAD!!!!!!

QUICK....shop vac it all out of there as best you can to minimize the damage...whoops ....too late...now what do i do???

im planning on waiting a couple days to let the resin that i couldnt get out finish eating the foam and fill it all in again with gorilla glue but then what?

what kind of epoxy do i use for this thing?...the only kind i know of is the kind that comes in the two tube syringe from Home Depot...squirt it out...mix it up and spakle it onto the board over fiberglass???

im out of my league here...all i know is regular surfboards...none of this new fancy stuff....HELP....

whats ray bay doin??...is it catching any of this...im thinkin no that the breakwall is blocking everything...

but what about that spot waaaaaaaay out at sea in front of the oil rig that was breaking last time....SUPs hadnt been invented yet...blane was but still knee paddling with a canoe paddle...only guys that could make it out there were the tow guys...but now....
