yes the resolution sux...yes its from the surfline cam...across the street waaaay far away...but the siloshot can't keep me in focus....anyway....im a fatass 240lbs on the NL220....im tellin you the winglets are no joke....

Foil SUP / switchfoot foil...8 hrs

after carefull research i have determined it takes 8 hours minimum thats 4...2 hour sessions to go from an absolute first time Switchfoot foiler couldn't even get airborne....to sort of competent able to go up wind down wind...point high point low....fly wherever i want on foil...

was a very frustrating 8 hours and i almost quit many many times....but flying all twisted up REALLY sucked so i had to learn it...

if anyone else out there needs to learn to switch foot foil so they can wing foil without bieng all twisted up...the best thing to do is learn it on a kite ...then go to the wing...don't give up it only takes 8 hours of practice...

ive been riding a SimSUP lookin L41 type 8'6" with the maliko 200 for 6months now and i think im ready to move on to something higher performancey....i.e.....i can do 3 for 1's but the tail slaps when pumping back out and rails drag in the cutbacks...you guys both started on L41's and are big guys like me 230#...

going to Maui next week and i saw a 7'6" starboard hypernut on craigslist 106L i think....

do you think this a good idea?....or should i just go get an easyfoiler or ask dave kalama?...

cant decide...thanks

Gear Talk / 120 sq. in. paddle?....anybody still use them...negatives?

thinking about getting a 120 sq in paddle for foil SUP...

ive always liked bigger blades...i want to feel like the paddle is stuck in the water so i can pull the board past it as opposed to digging a hole with the little guys...

.never tried one before....does anyone still make these things?...and for those who have had one what were your negatives?...tha ks

Foil SUP / does anybody else get totally screwed up after regular surfing?

the wind has been GREAT in so cal the past few days and ive been kite surfing the heck out of the place....then i got back on the foil...oh hell no!....lost ALL my foil skills what few i had...after about an hour of beatings i finally was able to keep it sort of under control again but not really

is it just me or do you guys have to relearn everything all.over again on the foil after you go regular surf for 3 days?

Foil SUP / epiphany from a 2 session guy...just sit down

1st session looked exactly like all the 1st timer "eat it" videos all over the internet...almost chopped my foot off half a dozen times...almost fell on and got stabbed by the wing a half dozen more...board rolling over sideways and falling on the wing or wheeling out of the water began to get scary...

2nd session i thought "what if i just ride sitting down"...feet out in front kayak style...caught a wave sitting down...angle across the face...transferred paddle to inside hand...outside hand grab the rail...little but hop to engage the foil and ....yeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaa...flying down the line foiling and IN CONTROL!!!...for once...

sitting down is soooooo much easier and way safer when you have to bail...doesnt look very cool at all but its great for getting the feel of what the foil is going to do...

Random / samsung galaxy s3 internet slow?

i just got my first smart phone ever a samsung galaxy s3....

sort of surf related because i will be using to to check bouys, winds, tides, cdip...all that stuff....

anyway...the internet, youtube, sigalert...all internet apps run suuuuupeeerrr SLOW!!!...some never load at all...just get stuck 3/4 of the way through the load...

my kid has an iPhone4 3G and we both clicked a youtube video at the same time today and his iPhone4 KICKED my A$$...my galaxy never even ran the whole thing...

been scouring the galaxy forums and cant find much info on the prob...

cleared the cache, cookies, history..nothing helps...

somebody suggested to "root" it...

this place is the BEST source if info for things like this...anybody have any experience with this prob???

Random / iphone backup ?

i got a new computer and downloaded the newest version of itunes and synced the iphone to that computer for the first time

i accidentally deleted all the movies/music/apps/etc from my iphone when i did that

it says it created a backup of the iphone before it wiped everything out

but when i hit "restore" it restores all the software but NONE of the movies/music/apps/etc

does anyone know how to get all that stuff back?
