Foil SUP / wobble feeling

I am a very new SUP foiler who has been SUP surfing for 4y and kite foiling for ~5y. When standing on the board in surf I have noticed a weird foil sensation that I wanted help ‘interpreting’. When I am standing on my 6’6” 125-135L SUP foil board with foil tracks  with a big 1720 cm^2 foil on a thin 28” aluminum mast, I feel a wobbling or vibration/oscillation of the foil underneath me. I am guessing this is a well known phenomenon.  It is a bit disconcerting. Is this most likely the foil boxes and the bottom skin flexing or the mast itself bending? (I did search for this subject but did not find results that answered my question). If this is the boxes and bottom skin flexing, is this board likely to blew out the foil boxes?

Hawaii / Where to SUS on Maui next week?

Any suggestions on where to SUS on Maui next week. Am staying in Wailea and kiting Kanaha/Baldwin in afternoons. Have surfed west side, NW and N shore.... but it has been a while and not so sure about where to SUS. Am bringing SUP from CA where I live on beach. Am intermediate SUS...been trying about 2y. Any help appreciated. Where is good Kanaha lineup? Hard of a spot outside the Kahalui harbor. Thanks

Gear Talk / 3 piece travel paddle

I currently use a fixed length Chinook Thrust 92 paddle which I LOVE.

I just bought a 3 piece Chinook 82 Thrust SUP travel paddle for a trip to Maui. My SUP discipline is SURF. I have not used this paddle but am worried I will not like it. I admit I am spoiled by the fixed length paddle.

This 3 piece paddle may be OK for flatwater paddling but seems to be less than ideal for SURF.

Seems this SUP paddle will leak at bottom joint and fill up with water in surf (e.g. when surfer & paddle are tossed around in and under water).  Might be OK for non-waveriding but seems that it will fill up with water in waves.

Most of the problems I ANTICIPATE are at lower joint. I think I could use electrical tape for bottom joint and also for the the  button that holds the bottom section on. Maybe I could silicon seal the lower section while I am on location away from home and then crack it apart for travel to back home.

Gear Talk / Surf Travel Paddle 3 piece

I am trying to choose and buy a 3 piece SUP paddle for SURFING. I regularly use a fixed length, full carbon paddle with an oval shaft (Chinook Thrust 92). My favorite features are the clean shaft for moving hands, oval shaft for switching hands and the lightness. I am really apprehensive about a paddle with a clamp style adjustment mechanism near my hands. I am intrigued by Werner's adjustment in the handle (and cleaner shaft).... but will miss my oval shaft (on Chinook whose adjustable has a big clamp). Curious what other SUP surfers' opinions are on paddle preferences.

SUP Safety / SUP Paddle Handle in Face

I just got 3 stitches in my eyebrow from a SUP paddle handle in the face. Most importantly, it ended my awesome surf session and I am out of the ocean for at least a week (am a little scared of my paddle). I was SUP surfing, paddling for a wave when my top hand came off the handle (I guess). This is the second time I have taken a paddle handle to the face in the last few months. Has anyone else done this? Disclaimer: My left hand, top hand on strong side is small, while my right hand is normal size (large)...so it may be a physiological problem. Nonetheless, I am wondering if others may have experienced this injury. I can't remember if I was switching paddles sides and missed the grab with my top hand ...now that I think of it, that may have been what happened. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
