hi Rand, do you think people are faster on 14'-15', because these lengths fit better the wave shapes that are created in windier conditions ? Not, sure, but my guess is that swell shape would be a part of it. Probably also rider weight, strength, board weight, etc. It is hard to ignore the size that you have had your best runs on, and the most fun runs on. It just doesn't seem like there is any consensus that one length is fastest (even for the same condition).

If they keep it simple with an under 12'6" class and an unrestricted class the 14'ers will be left in nowhere land. I am thinking that there are a lot of riders who have gone back down to 15 and 14 from longer boards because they are going faster on them in their most common (downwider) conditions. I don't think the class format you noted would have any effect on that. JM2C

Is this good enough grip for use as a pad replacement, or is it really for nose only?

A guess my real question is whether the added performance of an F-14 in Northern California conditions (15 - 25 knots most of the summer) when compared to the KuNalu is worth the added expense and transportation hassle. I'm sure randy will say something, he's paddled them--I haven't. I'm too big. I haven't paddled the Molded F-14, so you will need to get that specific info from other users here who have. I have paddled a few F-14 custom's, and those were terrific and at times even seemed faster than longer boards (with me on them). There are other users here who regularly use F-14's and go great on them. My answer would be, on our downwind run, yes, there is a big difference for the average rider between a F-14 and a KuNalu. Much better glides and easier in's (to note the big ones). The 15-25 Knot winds you usually go in are pretty typical for us too. Not sure how your water gets in that condition. The Delta looks like it builds up a pretty nice running wind swell, right?

Can I post a photo on behalf of someone else? (with his permission) Tunico, Yup, that is just fine. How are we suppost to vote for these submission's or am I jumping the gun again and I need to wait for the end of the week.... Hi Sam, I had left that too unclear when I wrote: -Additionally, 2 poll posts will be started (one for photo one for video), which will allow all standupzone members to vote. -The polls will stay open for one week.I should have left a specific submission period prior to the voting to allow time for all of these great (and I think they are unreal so far) submissions to accumlate. A week seems appropriate, so lets say voting will begin on Monday the 23rd. Thanks a lot to all contestants for supporting this event and putting forward such incredible stuff.

My bad, I was thinking that you were talking about a specific race model and length rather than boards in general.
I would be stoked to see the process from the get-go. Possibly a race board?

Hi Dave, You missed one. Look up a few posts. Thanks.

7. 4" to 4 1/2" of nose rocker and 3 1/2" of tail rocker seems to work well.
12. Thickness for 160lb. rider about 4" for 200lb. rider 4 1/4"
Hi Dave, Thanks for this post. One question. What are the other dimensions of the hypothetical board you are talking about above (width/length)?

Admin - do you know if they will be built in a Chinese autoclave or will this be a USA (or Canadian) board? No, I am not sure. I also hope Mark never stops building one offs and still molds up a few of his own on Maui. Just watching Mark do his thing on the very limited basis that I have, I can not imagine him not doing that. The R and D (...and R and D...and more R and D) seems to be a real joy for the guy. He didn't express any interest in slowing that down. Sounds like an Act 221 company in the making to me Now you're talking. Get it going!

No party gets to shirk the blame on this one. My favorite exchange between Chris Wallace and John McCain from the recent election:
WALLACE: But, Senator, you voted for the $700-billion bailout that's being used partially to nationalize American banks. Isn't that socialism?
MCCAIN: That is reacting to a crisis that's due to greed and excess in Washington. And what this administration is doing wrong, and what Paulson is doing wrong, is not going out and buying up home loan mortgages, home mortgages, and giving people new mortgages at the new value of their home so they can stay in their home. They're bailing out the banks. They're bailing out these institutions.
WALLACE: But you voted for that.
MCCAIN: Of course. It was a package that had to be enacted because the economy was about to go into the tank.... That's the reason why we have governments, to help those who need help, who can't help themselves, and when time of crisis to step in and do what's necessary to preserve the lives and futures of innocent people. It wasn't Main Street America that caused this. It was Washington and Wall Street.

From now on I shall refer to this incident as "unpleasantness at Spartans" Any chance you are going to be doing an interpretive dance rendition of "unpleasantness at Spartans".

Hi Rand, can you explain a little what these technologies are ? i know what prepreg cloth is but have no idea about autoclave. is this a test run to have more boards produced this way ? thanks... You too? I had to look it up when I got home. From Wikipedia: Industrial autoclaves are pressure vessels with full-diameter fast-opening doors, used to process parts and materials which require exposure to elevated temperatures whilst under pressure. The manufacture of high performance components from advanced composites often requires autoclave processing.
