Classifieds / Maliko 280 WING ONLY
« on: April 08, 2019, 08:38:56 PM »
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/spo/d/los-angeles-go-foil-maliko-280-wing-only/6861727450.html

Selling a never-used Maliko 280 wing and case. Literally has never touched water. (If the post is still up, its still available.)

THIS IS THE WING ONLY

Description from site:

ďThe largest wing in the collection! The larger surface area of the Maliko 280 makes it best suited for slower speeds which translates to added confidence and safety. It is the ideal choice for learning to foil using slow speeds and riders wanting to learn to downwind foil.Ē

Bought this back in November. Word on the street is that Go Foil has gotten a bit more modular and this SHOULD fit most recent masts and fuselages. You can also sand or add shims apparently. Obviously you are welcome to test the fit before purchase.

Doing advanced math on the go foil site leads me to believe that, brand new, this wing is worth $750. Iím knocking $150 off that and holding FIRM at $600. Again, never touched water.

Located in west La but Im also at San O, and Mondos a lot.

Thanks!

Foil SUP / Re: Foil for a 240 lbs surfer

Im 270 and I switch back and forth btwn the m200 and the iwa when prone surfing. Standup would be m200. The warranty thing is definitely annoying. Especially since GoFoil frequently posts instagram videos of people on m200 (and even some Brett lickle on an M280!) in the surf. But its a great wing and I never feel like Im fighting to get it flying which was definitely the case on my old takuma wing.

Foil SUP / Re: Lost foil at el Porto

Well it sinks thatís definitely part of the review  :) other then that it was really well built. Super solid and seemed to be the exact dimensions and build of the takuma foil (same factory). I canít speak too much to itís rideability as itís the only one Iíve ever rode, but itís quality was excellent.

Foil SUP / L.A. Area foil board repair
« on: August 22, 2018, 02:28:29 PM »
Posted about this in a different thread but thought I would make it it's own topic. Blew the tracks out of the bottom of my board (L41 tv dinner with tuttle and tracks pre-installed) and want to make sure I take it to someone who will build it back just as strong. Any reccs for LA area?

Thanks!

Yeah did the snorkel thing for about an hour and no joy. May give it another go tomorrow. Thinking about it in terms of a grid is a good call though. And yeah only floating foils for me from now on! Maybe also a foil leash?

Ripped out of the track and went to the bottom of the ocean. I assume itís another donation to king Neptune but just in case anyone comes across it. All black takuma type shape with L41 markings

Foil SUP / Big guys: What foils are you riding?
« on: August 08, 2018, 12:49:30 PM »
Im 6'5  270ish and have been on a Takuma type foil but think I need to go bigger. Curious about some of the new larger wings that are coming out. Anybody have experience with the Naish XL, the new big Slingshot or any others? Would go GoFoil but the inability to switch out wings for when it gets bigger (unless I buy everything at once) has me hesitant...

Hey guys. Iím a Santa Monica local and have been just starting out myself (on session 12ish) I donít post here much but I lurk a lot. Iíve been traveling to popular spots in the counties north and south of here but havenít had much luck locally yet. If u guys are willing to share via dm any spots that are working for you let me know Iím discreet and respctful. (Sounds like a shady massage parlor ad.) if not, I totally understand, and Iíll just keep lookin

Foil SUP / Re: Tips for Big Guys?

I haven't started yet but I ordered a custom L41 board for foiling (which also doubles as a SUS board) because i didn't know if any of the off the rack stuff was going to be the right size. Im 275 so bigger then you. Gofoil has some bigger wings that have come out (but not yet on their site) the maliko 200 and maliko 280. Slingshot has an h4 wing... there seems to be equipment out there. Im now waiting for the board to be done and some more reviews to be up on the wings, but the short answer is I think there is gear out there to make it happen.

Foil SUP / Big Guy foil board size?
« on: September 26, 2017, 06:31:40 PM »
Hey everyone...

long time lurker here. definitely interested in getting a foil board. Currently riding a 10'6 by 32ish SUP atx for surf. Im wondering what boards bigger guys are riding when foiling. Im 6'5 270.  Ive been surfing for 20 + years and started supping a couple of months ago on a 12 ft board and already stepped down....

Im right thinking 9 or 9'6 in a simmonsy type shape and then putting a deep tuttle in.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!
