Good video SC!  I took a personal day on 1/11 to catch the big Wednesday leftovers and it paid off!  Some of the set waves were still quite large, the higher tide in the morning made getting out not too much of a task at least once you got past the shore pound. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for leftovers on Sunday but the predicted winds may be too much, hopefully somewhat manageable.  After this weekend the wave forecast looks bleak for some time.

I have the same paddle purchased in 2020.  A lot of use in four years and still looks and feels new.  If it were to ever break I’d get the exact same one.

That was quick. Those were nice SUPs at great prices. Now that they're gone, will you be getting something new?
Hi Badger,

Yes an 8’10 Sunova Ghost is on order, should be delivered in 4-6 weeks.

Hope all is well.

Ken

Three SUPs for sale.  All well used but still a lot of life left.  The Fanatic sup once ended up on a jetty and sustained damage that was crudely repaired but it’s a great board for flat water paddling and riding waves.
Both Jimmy Lewis boards are great for surfing waves of all sizes.

Jimmy Lewis Destroyer 8’10 x 31’, 145L - $520
Jimmy Lewis SuperFrank 8’6 x 32’, 141L - $520
Fanatic Allwave 9’2 x 31.5, 150L - $220

All boards have Railsaver installed.

Location: Long Branch, NJ

General Discussion / Re: JL Destroyer fin setup
« on: July 18, 2023, 12:26:39 PM »
Hi,

I have the 8’10 Destroyer riding it for a long time now as a tri fin.  I use the yellow quobbas up front and a 4” true Ames center fin.  This setup works well for me.

Fun video SC!  Cool you were able to rent a decent SUP.  I’m going to PR next week, not a surf trip, going to visit my mother.  We’ll probably do a couple trips to the beach where I’ll look to rent a prone soft top.

I have the SS 25 which are discontinued but SS said they’d give me $100 off a new or refurbished SS 65.  I don’t use it enough to justify spending around $800 plus mine does work when I do use it.

Nice video!  Hope your shoulder is ok.  It’s not the shoulder you had surgery on a few years ago is it?

Travel, Trips, Destinations / Re: Intermediate SUP surf spot on Oahu?
« on: December 26, 2022, 06:06:10 PM »
I visited Oahu twice last year a week in October and December.  The problem I had was finding SUPs for rent and the ones I found were in real poor condition.  In October I gave up renting a sup and rented a long board from Moku surf shop.  The staff were friendly and they open at 6am, rentals are super cheap.  In December I had enough of the crowds at Queens and Canoes so I rented a sup all week from Moku and paddled way out to Pops which had no crowd.  The sup was beat up but I made the most of it.  I couldn’t find anywhere to rent a sup on the north shore.
Actually, I did and he said they do not rent Sups for surfing anymore.  I think he has a shop near a river or calm body of water and I believe they rent sups but not for the ocean.

Did you try Blue Planet??? Oops, I reread the original post and see that Blue Planet has stopped renting SUPs. I'd call Robert anyway and see if he has something stashed.
