Yes the disadvantage of coil is tangled up but advantage are better than straight cord. I dont find the recoil is an issue with 10ft length.

It's a good idea when touring, training etc and especially doing a down wind run (probably not). I had this paddle that was 60% snap at the top of the blade and just made it to shore.

Coil leash is good in any condition (flat, ocean & surf). I'm surprised not many brands is doing it (hint hint). I think FCS got a few range.

Just make sure you put lots of hot glue and don't be tight because you'll get water in and you'll have to do it again  :)

I don't foil but I would say foil is part of stand up board. Maybe one day I'll have a go.

Without testing the new sw board, looks like jl wants the board to a bit faster, turns better (surf/de) but loose some stability.

Good to see others accepted sup as another surf board.

Tool less fin is the next best thing, fcs and LA are on it. I think the others won't follow because of the cost maybe, unless they find a way to it build cheaper.

I was really surprised Michael fell off a few times in that race with a 21.5 board and small fin  ;)

Tito was also on 21.5 board and he's smooth as always but on the edge of falling off a few times. An interesting board comparison were Michael's board has narrow front and wide tail and bottom CV channels were tito board has wide front with pin tail and flat bottom to v.

I saw that new color scheme fanatic falcon in that race but the Australian rep said its not the new falcon.

Tested the new sonic 14x24 wide the other day and it lighter than previous sonic and somewhat faster and easily catch a tiny ripples but really tippy and I dont think I'll be comfortable on that out in the ocean.

They do look similar and I'm hopping a test ride the sidewinder and rs this year.

I didn't like the tt on my boards, yes it's fast but slow when its rough. I preferred the mako 37 out of the sonic and tiger, its an allrounder kinda fin.

The only logic with tt fin for Michael is there fastest fin in vmg range therefore he likes that on any condition. Can I make an assumption, he will be using these euro race setup on maliko run this year with record breaking time from last year travs 2017 maliko record.

These boutique fins are expensive and its shouldn't cost that much because they made overseas not handmade from manufacturer's work shop. The designs are nice, light etc but imo a waste of my money. Yes they come from great designer with lots of knowledge but when i tested them its disappointing as they say they would do. I see some ppl bragged about their product because of thier talent in balancing act on the board but it's not helping us weekend warriors. If you like your vmg fin then the mako 37 is my pick and the rest out of vmg range is hang on the garage wall.
