Super frank / lean 8’0 x 30″x 4.2" liters 115L

Bought end of june.

nice looking board, light at 8kg non carbon material, nice quality and construction as you would expect from JL.

as a newbie the quad fin setup is nice to have, its fast and you can drop in at any angle and drive through, its so stable. The thruster somewhat slow but I'm working on that wave positioning thing ;)

at my level/height/weight I don't think I could go to a lower volume.

easy to catch a wave, like's late take off and the maneuverability is nice.

its a little unstable on rough days (backwash etc) but manageable and the gloss paint job is slippery.

Overall I'm happy with this board, good advised and service from Rob JL Australia

80kg 5'5" beginner to intermediate and I can't do cut back yet ;)

surf well and catch waves easily.

down breeze to downwind is fun on this board.

initial stability is no good but the 2nd stability is better, its tippy but you get use it.

one of the best head wind board I've tested but side on wind and side chop is no good but manageable.

rear drain hole could move a bit forward or back because I tend to stand over it during down breeze/downwind on parallel stance but ok on surf stance

I think the pin tail on this board is too narrow and it could widen a little bit

its a bit heavy at 14.5kg for a Pro full carbon board and its either somebody incorrectly painted a hybrid board as a PRO carbon board at the factory or I got a prototype

nice to look at, nice paint and deck pad and well build carbon board.

I'm 80kg 5'5" beginner to intermediate wannabe club racer.

80kg 5'5" beginner to intermediate and I can't do cut back yet ;)

its a nice the board to look at and you can feel the quality on this board and its tough after a few knocks with without a scratche.

the rails are thin and it shows once your on any wave combine with the v tail and the glide is quick and responsive for a long and wide board.

I think its more high performance long board. I struggled to hang-ten at the nose because its so quick ;)

Gear Talk / 2018 ECS Slab 7'11" x 28 3/4 review

good package as it came with full carbon paddle and nice bag.

for a short board 7'11" x 28 3/4 it paddles well in/out of surf with parallel outline, wide nose & tail.
Its hard work on rough days but manageable.

I like thruster setup though quad setup somehow grippy and fast down the line.

its a nice design board and surfs well for a hack like me its shame about the board construction and material as I feel its poorly made.

SUP General / board, fin & paddle = you
« on: June 08, 2018, 10:46:59 PM »
Last weeks euro tour race was interesting?!
We all know Michael is in form at the moment but seriously he was on 21.5 wide board, Large blade & time trial fin and the conditions were head wind, chop, side & downwind......Cmon!!!
Repeat that = Michael is not that tall nor big but use a large blade, downwind on a skinny flat water board and use low profile time trial fin....really  :o ???

Paddle is a preference thing.

This bp paddle is the lightest paddle I have ever came across. The dihedral high aspect blade works well, is stable, lots of hold and it feels like your on a tear drop blade. The quality and made is nice. I tested the 83sq & 88sq blade & both had medium flex shaft 100% premium usa made with palm handle. The only negative with this complete paddle is your limited to 1 option to medium flex shaft which is too stiff if your technique is not that pro and your cutting it below 74" totall length.

At 5'6 80kg I would select 78sq because you have the option with soft flex shaft, same goes with 73sq blade.

Gear Talk / Quickblade carbon blade vs Vector Net blade?
« on: February 14, 2017, 07:19:17 PM »
I must say the top end QB paddle are expensive, however that's not the subject of this topic.

Can anyone please provide feedback between carbon blade & vector new blade on either Trifecta or vdrive?

just another happy infinity sup rider.

I use the whiplash 14 x 25 for flat and calm waters.

I use the blackfish 14 x 26 for rough and ocean waters.

the infinity carbon boards are soo light (will weight & let you know soon) and behave differently to each other as expected.
