Gear Talk / Running Quad with a little stubbie?
« on: February 24, 2018, 11:56:44 AM »
Ok have played with different size quad sets after deciding I prefer quad over thruster with the majority of surf I ride is never bigger then just overhead.

Just saw a couple YouTube vids about adding a little stubbie to tighten it up just a tad without the over finned feel. So I cut down a plastic fin and going to give it a try, I'll prob cut the aft tab off to get it further back...

Anyone try this, thoughts?

Casual invite: I live in Little Compton RI where I kite, SUP and surf all over but I've never down winded on my 14'. The Sakonnet river seems perfect for it, SW winds Sakonnet Point to Fogland or NW Island Park to Fogland. Be nice to have buddy so let me know when a little warmer temps start to fill in. Cheers, JB

Gear Talk / Quad fin question
« on: July 03, 2017, 02:07:17 PM »
Running quad setup, should the trailers be foil/foil? I have two Stretch short boards and both run quad with foil/foil trailers. My SUP's came with foil/flat, what's correct?
I tend to think Stretch has more experience and knowledge then most, but not all SUP shapers like Bert Burger/Sunova, his came with foil/flat ???

Thanks, Quad confusion

Technique / Paddle length; surf vs race
« on: July 10, 2016, 08:13:06 PM »
Maybe a dumb question.

Just got my first race board 14', only surfed sup experience, my paddle feels short.

In general are racers using longer paddles then normal surf style lengths?

Thanks
