You are a bad influence. Like an itch I can't scratch. I sincerely mean those two statements in a very, very GOOD way. It's nice to see a little flat water cruising/paddling video. One question though. It's a dumb question but a newbie like me doesn't mind asking a dumb question. That question is, can you surf that 11'2"x32"x5" @ 220 liter sup? I'm asking because I've got a wild hare of my own that I hope I can pursue.

BTW, as always, I really enjoy watching all of your videos so thanks for sharing them here on the Zoner site.

I've got a few minor goals but my MAJOR goal is to sell my Hobie and replace it with another sup.

I think Hobie makes a rotomolded, double outrigger boat that you can sail and/or paddle and/or use the pedal drive that they've engineered. It's pretty cool.

Off Topic

The one from Hobie is called the "Adventure Island" kayak. I've pedaled/sailed it since one of my friends has one. They're real nice too, but not the price tag. I think he paid $4500 for it and it is two years old now. Here is a video of one and this video is not the one my friend owns since his is white colored.

Looks like the NEsurfSUP group are part polar bears.  8)  Glad to see people are enjoying supping in the wintertime. The pictures are most appreciated since they give me (and others like me) something to look at while we wait for the warmer waters of springtime to come our way.  ;)

Just curious.

Would there be any advantage with a twin outrigger instead of with the single outrigger?

The One Wheel looks like it is a lot of fun.  But, at $1500, if I had a choice between the One Wheel or buying another sup, it's no contest. The sup wins out without a moments hesitation.

SUP General / Re: Paddling COLD - Video perfection and gear info

This was an excellent video. Enjoyed all the different places, the different species of wildlife along the way and the different models and lengths of boards you rode. I really do envy you people who sup in the winter. Unfortunately winter supping is not for me whether it be flat water cruising or surfing. This is not because of effort either. I just can't stand COLD water, COLD air temperatures and COLD wind. I don't care for wearing heavy wet/dry suits either. For me; being COLD from air temperature, wind and the worse, from getting wet, makes me miserable where I don't enjoy anything.

I'm just one of those types who just doesn't like the cold which means when it comes to water sports; my sup gets put up at the beginning of December and I won't be back on the water supping until the water temperature reaches 66 degrees (which is my comfort zone) where I can sup in a long sleeve shirt and long pants and that is usually sometime in March where I live in southeast Texas.

Excellent video. Enjoyed it immensely. A beautiful spot for a trip and you got to sample quite a few different length surfboards. If I went to a place like that, I'd never want to return home. Thanks for sharing your video.

Night Wing... my buddy Bruce is using my classic 12'6 Starboard Cruiser (2007?)... awesome board, one of the 1st good Surf SUPs. Works well in everything.... they should still make it.

Thanks for the info. It's given me a few ideas for future reference.

BTW, sorry about the "her" when it was a "him". I think I need a new trifocal eyeglass prescription change and it just so happens I've got an appointment with my ophthalmologist this upcoming Tuesday morning.

@supthecreek

Looking at the waves and wind in this video, those are the exact same wind and water/wave conditions I usually encounter in the springtime of the year on our area lakes where I sup.

BTW, I'm always curious when I see things in videos. If you don't mind me asking and you're willing to answer. Your partner in this video. What is the brand, model,  length, width and liters of her board?

Your daughter takes good pictures. She has that "knack" for taking good photos. She should make a good living as a photographer, whether employed for a company or as a freelancer. I don't have that knack and this is why I always appreciate a good photo.

I'm glad people like yourself sup in the winter. Gives me some nice videos to watch which relieves my "cabin fever".

Thanks for sharing.

Hopefully they carried enough insurance to get back in business when Spring arrives.

You people who go supping when it's cold and snow on the ground are really tough especially when the air temperature is 13 degrees F. BTW, the winter scenery is something to behold. So still and quiet too.

The constant speed was easily noticeable. I paid close attention of your foot work on the middle (centerline) of the board.

Great video. Thanks for sharing it.
