Amazing! I see you went with a different foil this time. Better for higher winds? A 6m seems like a lot of wing for 20-30 mph. Are you switching feet on jibes?

-

Yes on the foot switch but stopped after a bit. Today kinda figured it out much better with a quick switch.

I went with a prototype from The Hydrofoil Company and didn’t intend to go that long. After a while thought I’d try an hour.

6m CWC did surprisingly well the whole time. Guys came out on 4 m.

A little more wind today and used the 4.2 strike.

Wind was 20-30 mph and the 6 m cwc was on point. The harness is key.

Amazing day, got about 42 miles on foil and 3 hours 36 minutes (according to the Waterspeed app 😏). Did not go out intending to go that far… that I was only out for 1:45ish. 😁

5
The 1300 has such a great wind range… low to high wind. Awesome!

6
I started counting and lost track after 50 jibes. 😁 I had this personal goal of being on foil for over an hour and previously to the last run fell at 58 minutes and 59 minutes 😂.

I used the Kalama E3 6’4” x 23” (love this board), 90 cm aluminum mast, short red fuselage, and 1300/375.

Wing- F one 6 m CWC (with harness). Wind was 12-16 mphs.

7
Stayed up on foil for over an hour 22 minutes.

Holy crap.  That is the dream.

It was!! Came in from it being dark!

I have the 1150/460-390-500 and the 1099/375. Bought the 1300 maybe a month ago and paired it with the 375 (red shirt fuselage) and it is my current favorite set up. Winds using an 8 m to 2.8 m it is solid. That said, it is about surfing waves and cruising. Stayed up on foil for over an hour 22 minutes. The 1300 is my new go to. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
My board is the Kalama E3 6’4” x 23”. Solid!! Ocean sup foil and and wing.

I am finding the 1099/375 on an ultra short fuselage and 90 cm mast is my favorite winging set up in most all the conditions I ride in. Handles light to heavy wind. Sup foiled the same set up on the North Shore of Oahu.
I even prefer it in light wind over the 1150/390 or 460. Paired with the 8 m CWC F one… lights out!!

Winds were 10-16 today. The 1099 is unbelievable. Hit over 20 mphs in 12-16 mph wind. The ultra short fuselage and 375 rear cranks turns. In fact, I was getting the tip out of the water during jibes. Amazing!!

Hello! We will be taking a trip to the North Shore of Oahu and have been there several times but have not winged it sup foil. I am aware of P. Point to sup foil although very busy when the lessons start.

Looking for more info on Mokuleia Beach to wing? Any tips… where to go out, reef spots, other considerations?

Thanks!

Ben

I have the 1150/460 & 390. Have the 1099/375 ultrashort. Light wind sessions at 9 mph and once up flies!
Went to Arlington on the Gorge Sunday. Light winds. Then slowly picked up to 15-16 with rollers.
I might have completed my quiver with the 1099 & 1150. That said, thought I would need the 1150 (can dock start with it) in the light winds. After my last 2 sessions… 1099… might be the answer.

Slogged the first bit. Learned the 1099 gets up different than the 1150. The 1150 I can hammer away like a dock start while the 1099 needs longer pumps to glide (if that makes sense). Once gliding in the water, use your back hand to lightly pump up on foil. Once up be careful… I flew all the way to Roosevelt in super light wind and then stopped. Had to slog back. It flies in hardly any wind!!
