I started this post about the Kahuna Makani but then saw your previous post... But hey, maybe some used kicking around Canada.  12'2" x 27.5" - carbon - rocker like you want...

https://kahunapaddleboards.com/en/boards/down-wind/12-2-makani

They just started making the board this year, so I don't know that there will be many used boards available.

Yet another option:

The Hypr Nalu Hawaii Gun - comes in four sizes, 9-6, 10-6, 11-6, and 12-6.

I would like to stick with 12' - 12'2" to maximize the "surf sup class" also I would prefer 27.5" over 30" width. Boards look cool though.

Here's another equally elusive board ... Wetstuff's Atlantis Venom - 12'x28ish.

https://www.standupzone.com/forum/index.php/topic,32528.msg368787.html#msg368787

I've also looked at this board but finding one used in the US is likely to be nearly impossible. But if it wasn't I DO like the board. I think the Kanuna would be better in DW, smaller waves and racing, but the Venom would be better in larger waves or waves that aren't as clean (we get a lot of that in the NE)

I translate mellow as slow. So slow that it wouldn't have enough speed to do much turning, especially in mushy waves. Just straight line slow surfing.

There are lots of better 12ft boards than the Bombora for everyday surf conditions and casual flatwater/race/downwind paddling.

Off the top of my head....

Blue Planet Bump Surfer

PSH Hull Paddler

King's Downwinder

JL M-12'6

Sup Sports One World

Sunova Search

They will have less rocker and a lot more glide. I'm sure there are more.

Watch with full screen.

Blue Planet Bump Surfer - Too long, wider

PSH Hull Paddler - Too long, wider

King's Downwinder - Too long, cu$tom

JL M-12'6 Too long, wider

Sup Sports One World - Too wide

Sunova Search - Too wide

12'6" is a race class and most "surf sup" races are 12ft and under. Narrower and/or longer boards will be faster.

I can guarantee that it won't work downwind due to the rocker.

That sounds like a challenge.

What will you be using it for? Giant waves?

One reason there aren't any on the east coast is because we don't have conditions big enough for a board like that.

It's made for big wave surfing. It has way too much rocker to be used for anything else.

.

It will surf better than my 14x23 race board (which is what I surf now.) I'd like to try it when we have downwinders that the waves are stacked so close my 14 doesn't fit between them. It would nice to have for friends to sandbag races on a "surf sup" or for kids to race on.  And if I want to do cadance work for race training I can do miles on it with a smaller paddle.

Do I need it? No. Would I like playing with it, yes.

Still on the hunt... I found one in Canada, but shipping is going to cost more than the board. So still searching.

Anyone from the area going to Carolina Cup? I could use some help transporting a board.

I've been looking for a JL Bombora 12'x28" for a while now. I'm surprised they are not more popular. It seems like a very versatile board.

That's close, but I'm limited to 12'

Yeah for flat water 23 is pretty wide.  21.5 or less makes more sense based on what top racers are on.  For me as well 23 feel draggy vs a 21.5 spear.

RS used a 21 custom for 11 Cities.  So for really lightweight paddlers a 20 should be fine.  23s just have so much more form drag vs 21.5 and less spears.

Agreed

No one asked for it, but I'll add my 2 cents. I like the Nelo, but it's a flatwater board and I'm not gonna buy a flatwater board over 21.5"

Mana 90 is my everything paddle as well. I would like to have a mana 82 for my "off" days to give my shoulders a rest, but I can't afford it at the moment.
