Foil SUP / Re: Dedicated FOIL Section Now on SurferMag Message Board
« on: October 25, 2018, 05:26:13 AM »
I didn’t understand some of the reactions above, so I checked the FOIL SECTION...  some interesting things and that
“10/19/18 12:31 Why I honestly dislike SUP'ers
Is they are either new comers or guys who just gave up surfing.
I really hate when they have bad form...bending at the waist, not the knees. It's so ugly.”
I don’t really understand, is it about choosing partners ?
Sometimes it’s better not to try to understand

Great to see things evolving...

@Burchas, Nice board !

I thought other brands made 2 pieces SUP but never saw one. Now I’m curious about Supuk’s board!
In theory with these boards you have no length limit and the possibility to choose the nose of your board according to conditions, nice.. in theory..

I knew there were modular kayaks but I never heard about SUP you can split in 2 (or 3?)... Apparently Sunova did it... Anybody have more info? Did any brand made some modular board before?

a) people think I overreact when stating the obvious

b) people dismiss this as being a problem

c) people aren't at least trying to come up with solutions

stating the obvious/ are you guys seeing this too?
so photofr, you asked if people share your view and when some disagree they
're ignoring the obvious...
"careful...""alarming news""fear for the future" based on race in middle of the Alps is overreacting in my opinion.

So sad I forgot German, I couldn't read the SUP Alps trophy page. but I got they have kids categories. You're talking about Kalterer see, is it a big race?

The same weekend there were 3 big international events with lots of young guns (couldn't find age categories).

I m sure a fun race like the red bull Privateers treasure hunt should be appealing to youngsters.

Some sports need competition to be attractive, some don't necessarily, Some sports are difficult to practice once you’re getting older, some sports aren’t .
I bought a skateboard at the age of 40, I was a total fool.

As usual Mr Photofr sees only what he wants, and overreacts.
What is The “last race in Europe “?
22/33 are over 40?= 11 are under 40, not that bad.
Stats with only 33 don’t mean much anyway.
Endurance sports attract older people, do you know Marco Olmo ?
+ from SUP racer “Inspired by their pioneering superstar and world number two, Titouan Puyo, a new generation of New Caledonian paddlers are emerging on the international stage with under-18s Noic Garioud and Clement Colmas leading the way.(...)There are probably dozens more talented men and women waiting in the wings back home à la Tahiti(...)“Les Cagous” are humbly but surely reinvigorating the sport and giving new meaning to the term “Punching above your weight.”

Gear Talk / Re: Sunova Allwater vs Ocean
« on: April 30, 2018, 03:36:51 PM »
The Ocean has a lot of nose rocker wich is good for downwinding(...)
I personally would see the Allwater as my daily go to open ocean / flat water board.
+1 Talldude, you perfectly sum up what I understood. These boards have very different rockers and nose, so they will react differently.
Personally I went for the Allwater, board coming soon. Sunova recommended me the 25'5, I'm 85kg/1m91

Sunova SUP / Re: Sunova 2 in 1 sup/foil board
« on: March 15, 2018, 12:46:49 AM »
I checked, sunova 2in1 are 2in1, there’s no mast insert. I’m sure Sunova can add it if asked with a big smile (and lots of $?).
Maybe they’ll have another foilboard with a mast insert...

Great! And after using the gofoil he uses the Ke Nalu.
The board has little rocker, could it be also a windfoil too?

Foil SUP / Re: Crossover Windfoil / Downwind Sup foil option?
« on: January 29, 2018, 04:01:38 AM »
I'd like to try foiling with my windsurf rig, and it would be a bonus if I could experiment with the same foil and board for SUP downwinders. Are there any options out there for that?
I have some kind of similar plan, but using the same wing for wind foiling and foil downwind seams difficult. My plan is getting a Ke Nalu with the smaller wing and then later get the larger wing for downwinds.

Downwind and Racing / Re: Welcome to the Paddle League
« on: January 28, 2018, 04:46:16 AM »
When I looked online to find more about the Paddle League I found about the World Paddle Association... so there is a WPA! Then there’s also isa and icf...
Wish good luck to Paddle League, one thing is sure, Chris Parker and Kelly Margetts are 200% dedicated to SUP.

@Luc , is it possible to mound a Black Project blade on a Ke Nalu shaft?
