Its not often you get an epic day like that on the Bay.. so where else do the DW's hang out for excitement ?

I can't speak for the others - but I can be hanging out in Jupiter sup surfing, we do get some nice swells there.

What you all don't know is that Greg (gzasinets) is a DW lunatic. We're on the east coast of Florida, he lives on the west coast. He crosses the state every chance he gets to join in our DW's, even when the meet up is at 7am!!! (Btw, that's me (in black) and our local SG (SUP God) in the background at the very end of that video.)

It is not the Dw it is the people that I paddle along. Dw fun is just added bonus.

Off-Shore - normally we have winds from November through April. Florida is so unpredictable though, one day we have N winds next day SE and so on. We wait for good wind and direction and pray to wind gods:) I haven't had a good DW in a month or so now  Winds have not been favorable this year.

I downwind with a wonderful group of people from cocoplum navy in Miami. So we share rides. Uber will probably nor work since you would need to leave the board behind.

Great board.. I live in Naples so I do downwinds sometimes the way you do it (upwind/downwind) but prefer to join Miami gang for downwinding in the ocean or the bay. The last time I did 13 miles across the bay my average speed was 6.2 but that includes sitting down and waiting on the rest of the group. I think your average speed will be dependant on your skill level as well as conditions.
Sometimes on the gulf coast we have pretty good conditions for DW from Sanibel to Lovers key/Bonita/Naples depending on the angle of the wind. We do get nice rollers in 4-6 ft range when it is blowing 25-30mph. It just involves a little bit of car logistics
