Thanks guys- good to know. I was using primitive thinking - the stronger it is - the better it is. But apparently it ain't so.

I was thinking routing out the delammed glass and using carbon fiber + divinycell + carbon fiber + 4oz glass for sanding purposes. Of course vacuum bag it. Will it work ? or am I just overcomplicating life?

Thanks!

Maybe bring your Bullet back to your retailer first and get their take.  Did you leave it out in the sun? - and is your gore vent clogged?
It wasn't left in the sun for a long time. I look after my boards. It usually takes me 30 mins to get to the beach so yeah it sits on roof rack. For longer distances I use sic board bags. 12.6 bullet is trouble free but this one gives me this crap. I am not even sure how to properly check gore tex plug. It is something that I shouldn't be tinkering with. When my deck delaminated, I unscrewed the plug and try to blow some air through it. It would let the air out but very slowly and I had to blow somewhat hard :))) not sure if it is normal.

Thanks guys for all of your input. It is very valuable.
30 minutes is plenty of time to do damage. Are you saying you blew air through the Gore Tex plug itself, or you blew air into the board after removing the plug?

I blew air into the plug

Lots of the same happening in Bullets from that generation. Just started in a friends. Click click click. It delaminated.

When that happens to lots of boards in a series isn't that clearly a manufacturing defect? Shouldn't SIC replace that for you?

Good to know that I am not the only one. Funny thing is I filled out warranty claim on august 10th and no one has gotten back to me. Very interesting approach to customer service.

My 14months old bullet developed a serious sickness. I think it delaminated under the deck pad. What started as a small bubble under the pad turned into a huge thing that makes that clicky sound when you push on it. I initially thought the pad was not glued properly, but apparently I was wrong. Now the question. Fixable? Or should I just use till it falls apart?
Thanks.

SUP General / Re: Connor Baxter - SIC team rider...
« on: May 04, 2016, 06:17:15 AM »
I’m willing to bet that Mark gets a lot of gratification having one of the top SUP athletes choosing and riding one of his custom boards. At the end of the day they are all drinking a beer together while celebrating Connors win.
That's is correct.
Let's abstract from watever relationship sic and other riders have. If you look at the SB website they proclaim their boards to be the best (look at 2016 allstar video, claimimg to be the revolutionary board showing CB ripping the swell left and right). And yet this guy is riding sic to win the race. So a clueless customer who is in the market for a new board will dump 4k in the board that they believe wins all the races. I personally think that is blatant lie on sb behalf. BS in my book.

Very nice! Great conditions.

I would seriously look into JP Fusion line or Imagine Icon. Great boards to surf and flat water paddle. Imagine icon will have a little more stability and both are equally easy to catch waves.

That was a nice day. Sveta certainly got the hang of downwinding quickly. You would have enjoyed today--gusts to 50 MPH, crazy conditions, changing every hundred yards. sometimes the waves got blown flat and it was high speed groomed swell, and then when you got really flying there were big rollers in the deep water to drop into. I got going so fast my rudder quit working and my board was sliding in the tail. I was steering by poking my paddle up at the nose.

So jealous of you guys!  When I move to Maui I will probably become one of those downwind nut cases  ;) Always wondered what it would feel like to downwind in 50mph winds  :o

Suction cup was used to mount the camera to the board ...

Have you ever had an issue with the suction cup mount coming off?  Seems ideal for a board you don't want to or can't glue something to, but wondering if it is really reliable in water.

It has been really reliable for me so far. I also use tether to attach the whole thing to the sic handle (gotta love their handles) as a precaution. I only knocked the suction cup off the board once when I fell forward - but it was really stupid fall on my part. I think i am going to use the gopro surf mount + gooseneck extension on my personal board and resort to suction cup use on rentals.

Great perspective, can I ask what you used to shoot that vid?  Filters, settings, etc.
Thanks Bean. I used GoPro Hero 4 Black to shoot this video. Suction cup was used to mount the camera to the board as well my new favorite accessory swivit (lets you rotate the camera 360 - very handy). All was shot in 4K (4k really looks nice), protune set to ON, with white balance set to auto, color to gopro and high sharpening. No filters involved. Used Final Cut Pro X to put it all together.

Great video!

I really like the different points of shooting and capturing other paddlers from the side to help give a sense of speed. That is really nice.

You scored some good conditions when you were here. I think this was the same day as the race from the canoe club down to Makena and conditions were close to perfection that day.

Just for perspective, yesterday we started from the canoe club and had a 30 mph downwinder for 3 miles, then it turned around and blew out of the south, straight at us, at about 15 to 20. Lucky for me, I went in my OC1. The guys on the standups all had to scratch in to the Cove. It wasn't much fun paddling upwind to Sorrentos but at least I made it. 8) Point is, you hit some outstanding conditions. Thanks for the vid!
Thank you Covesurfer! We were really lucky to score those perfect conditions. Maliko didn't cooperate this year for me so maybe next time - when I move to Maui :)))))

Did couple of south side runs on my last Maui trip. Big shout out to Bill Boyum for making it all happen and keeping an eye on the forecast for me. It was very nice to personally meet Bill Babcock as well as Brian Szymanski.
