OK, drum roll...drdrdrdrdrdrdrdrdrdrdrdrdrdrdrdrd...................Whiplash!

Just couldn't resit.  Best price.  Board is pristine and it included the bag and quad set up.  Only did 2 miles on the way back but I would say that it's easily equal in stability to my old Glide 27.5".  More stable feeling than my Allstar 26.5.  Some primary stability be the secondary can really be leaned on.

Its a V2.  It's on the Mullet.  He wants $1000 so its in line with what I was looking at.  Got a buddy around here who paddles a 26 inch version.  He said he paddle a javelin once and found it more twitchy that his SIC.

No idea why but I keep looking back to the Whiplash.  Board is pristine and just looks really cool.  Not the best buying strategy but I haven't always made the best decisions !

Well the bark guy won't return a text or email so I have to rule him out.

Ok come hell or high water I'm getting a board tomorrow so I'm not going to be one of those guys who asks a thousand question and then is like "maybe I'll wait".

However I will throw one more contender in the ring.  For the same round about price, I found a 14 x 27.25 SIC bullet.  Nice part is, it's only about 1.5 hrs from me instead of 3.  Any thoughts on this as an all around board, stability, speed, tracking?

Also, I will post a pick of the new ride once I get it home so we can put this one to bed officially!

Thanks man.  It's actually a x28 (I typed 29 because I'm trying to work, help kids with school work and think about this).  Although from the sounds of it, I don't think that's going to change your mind.  It's a Larry allison ventral fin in the front.

HOLD THE PHONE, I am a complete dumba$$.  The Naish is a Javelin x29 GX, not a Glide.  Man I'm blind!

Not sure if that changes anything.

Feel free to verbally berate me for being an idiot :)

See!  Now there you go adding in real world experience that goes against what I was thinking last night, sheesh!  Like I said before, the boards are $250 apart in price which isn't killing me (although I wish the Naish were the cheaper of the two).

Interesting to hear about the boat wakes and wind chop.  Funny but I don't even have to deal with very many boats wakes where I am.  The typical two lakes I paddle are trolling motors only.  Then again, the one is 3 miles long while the other is only less than a mile from one end to the other.  There are a two other I go to less frequently that do allow motors.  That said, there could be some light wind chop and any of them.

Yeah, the whip already has the 4drive installed on it and comes with a bag.  I paddle lakes only.  Boat wakes are really the only thing I ever deal with.  In order to do any sort of half ass downwind around here you have to paddle upwind and come back.  If I'm doing that into 20mph, I'm reaching for my surfski or OC1.

The board is really to take out on the days when I'm done 5 miles with the ski or OC, I can take this out and paddle another 3-5 and relax and enjoy the scenery.  And have my kids use it.

Not to open a can of worms here but I found two boards.  One is a 14x26 whiplash (think 2017) with allison quad fin set up.  The other in a Naish glide (probably same year) which is a 14x28.

My old starboard was a 26 and while not unstable, I definitely was looking for some a little more relaxing but tracks well.  The two board above are about $200 apart (whiplash being cheaper) and about the same drive.

Any thoughts on stability comparison and anything else I don't know.  I would assume the Glide would be a fair amount more stable at 28", although I read that quad fin set up is great for tacking and some extra stability.

Bingo!  That's the sort of thing I'm looking for.  I shot the person a text.  It's a bit of a poke from me but who knows, maybe they wouldn't mind meeting somewhere closer to me.

Thanks for the heads up.

yeah, I check paddlemonster every morning.  The previous glide I have was the V2.  I only SUP flat water so downwinding for me doesn't make a difference.  If the wind is blowing on our larger lake, I reach for a ski or OC1 since I need to paddle up wind 5 miles to have fun downwind (kind of).

Thought I would this a bump for anyone cleaning house.  Does have to be perfect by any stretch, just under $1000.  I saw a Naish Glide and older Bark Dominator which look pretty good however they are at least 6 hrs away each.
